Expanding the College Football Playoff has been one of the major topics of conversation this offseason after the inaugural season with the playoff caused some controversy with Baylor and TCU both being left out. There are many that want to see the playoff expand from four teams to eight teams in order to avoid a situation like last year.

Unsurprisingly, Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw is among those in support of expansion. McCaw spoke to ESPN's Ivan Maisel on Wednesday and predicted expansion sooner than later.

"I think we'll get there," McCaw said Wednesday. "Once we get there, we'll say, 'Why didn't we do this from day one?' I would think within five years would be my hope."

Go Gophers!!

In an 8 team playoff Mississippi state is in and Georgia tech is out.

Whoops

In an 8 team playoff, all power 5 conference teams have a chance to PLAY themselves into the tournament.

Thumbs up.

Terrible idea - diminishes the value of the season and extends it too much. Four teams was perfect. Money greed will lead to 16, I suppose.

How does it diminish the value of the season?

How many teams in the D2 and D3 playoffs?

I don't see it going past 8 teams. My speculation of course.

NFL and MLB; win your division and you are in the playoffs. If you are close, you have a 'chance' as a wild card. Works well for them.

AND still maintain the bowl games.

Terrible idea. This wouldn't fix any problems. The ninth team in the BCS rankings would start to complain just like Baylor is right now. Shut the heck up.....Baylor. TCU was more deserving and they aren't complaining.

I don't want to see the bowl games further diluted.

No one in the history of college athletics has cared what Baylor has to say, so why should we start now?You can't get into a playoff, so you say the rules are unfair and you need to expand. You can't get into a conference, so you have the governor pull strings so you aren't left out in the cold. It looks like your conference might crumble, so you threaten to sue a team for leaving and produce false economic reports.

Baylor, you're Baylor. You're always going to be Baylor. Just accept the fact that you're Baylor. You're having a little taste of success right now, but you're going to Baylor it all away, just like you did in the bowl game against Michigan State.

And, Ian McCaw, have you ever even watched a football game? You look like a guy who is way more comfortable at a women's tennis match. Or, sniffing panties you bought off of the internet from some camgirl in Thailand.

Baylor, you are the place that a high school kid who didn't get into a real school can have daddy write a check to overpay for a mediocre education. You've somehow managed to build a brand of moderate prestige without any real substance.

Don't forget that you are middle of the pack academically and that you averaged just ONE conference win per year in the Big 12 from its inception until 2012. Don't forget where you came from, and from where you are one move by Texas or Oklahoma from returning. People will once more be purchasing $5 game tickets with every 12-pack of Dr Pepper they pick up at the Valley Mills H-E-B.

You think you're the Vanderbilt of the Big 12. Vanderbilt could stop doing any research at all for half a century and still be ahead of you in NSF rankings (fact). You think you're the Oregon of the Big 12. But, Drayton McLane is no Phil Knight. You're wearing the same fancy clothes, but your credit card is maxed out from the new McMansion you just put up down by the river.

Know your place and quit trying to bend the rules when you can't win on your own. This isn't high school where daddy would make sure his snowflake got a trophy by writing another check to your private school.

Focus instead on the fact that you are a supposedly Christian institution whose second best known athlete is a gender confused punch-thrower who couldn't make her lesbian marriage work for more than a month. Or, how you just brought in a player dismissed from Boise State for sexual assault - I bet all the ladies of Waco thank you for that one. Remember the two football players who passed out high in the Waco Taco Bell drive thru? Lace Dunn sucker punching his girlfriend and breaking her jaw? A murder by a basketball player and coverup by the coach? You can't promote that you are a conservative Christian school and look the other way on this.

In conclusion:

If we're talking about going from 4 teams to 8 teams....................................LEAVE BAYLOR OUT OF THE DISCUSSION.

Word. They're probably just bitter about being beaten by a better team in MSU. I don't hear them complaining.

Was that called a penalty? I cannot remember.

While the hit was clean and legal in a vacuum. At least at the High School level that is a 15 yard penalty this year.

Unnecessary Roughness.

While the guy was still involved in the play potentially and the hit was legal in terms of location....that will be flagged this year as beyond the contact necessary to make the play. There is an emphasis on this. I cannot remember if the emphasis is coming from the National Federation or the MSHSL....at least at the high school level that is an illegal hit.

How do you feel about that? Honestly I want opinions here.

no penalty on that play. It was a very clean hit from the front. That was the Baylor kicker running full speed into tomorrow. What a choke by Baylor.

+1. Love that clip. I wish I had the other clip from another angle. It never gets old ;-)
