Lunardi's August bracketology

Wisconsin a 4? They're pretty unproven beyond Koening and Hayes. Purdue only an eight?

First four out includes Ohio State...next four includes Iowa and Illinois. So that's 9 Big Ten teams in top 72ish and we are not one of them. I'd say rightly so but hope we surprise from deep in the pack and get some momentum going.

Was surprised by Purdue as an 8. Thinking a 5 or 6, even with potential PG issues.

I think Iowa will make the tournament with relative ease. Hawkeyes lose a lot, but they still have several good and/or experienced players returning at key positions: PG (Gesell), SG (Jok), Uthoff (F), and Woodbury (C).

That said, the Gophers had a lot of good and/or experienced players returning last season and we did a face plant.

Very surprised by this take. I don't see Iowa as having much of a shot at all at making the tournament with only Uthoff being a good player of the guys you mentioned. Maybe Jok develops in to one as well, but not enough to make up for losing White and Besabe from a team that got a lot of schedule breaks last year and still kind of snuck in to the tournament.

Not sure I'd say Iowa snuck into the tournament. Didn't they finish 12-6 in the conference and also had a road win at Carolina? They were in no jeopardy on Selection Sunday, unlike 2014 when they did sneak in.

Lunardi is a brand. Brands are often piss poor.

Iowa is solid.

Get familiar with Dale and the frosh... and the AGE of the returners.

But this type of nonsense reaffirms my understanding of mass media - it's trash.

It is because they long ago decided to be in the entertainment business instead of the information business.

Upside for Iowa is a bubble/fringe type NCAA team. I would disagree that only Uthoff is a good player. Gesell, Woodbury, Jok and Clemmons aren't spectacular, but they are all old (juniors or seniors).

Last year Iowa didn't sneak in. They were a 7 seed. Beat Ohio State twice, Maryland, had 7 true road wins (including @North Carolina).

To the rest of the B1G, Wisconsin as a 4 is likely high. But Bo Ryan's track record speaks for itself. Purdue certainly has talent, but not sure all the pieces fit together just right. 10-11 teams (including Minnesota) in the B1G have legitimate hopes to make the tournament. Not all will make it, obviously, but with a few breaks teams like Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois can be in the tournament.

I would sell Iowa for this upcoming season. I just don't see them as a good team on defense, and I think they probably lost more quality than they brought in.

OK 20 "bucks" says they go to the tourney.. you want to bet against me?

has anyone ever checked how far off he actually is on these...I don't have the time now to do reasearch and it wouldn't show up on espn's new site for previous years, but id be curious and thankfull if anyone could find it

How am I to take you serious when you put "bucks" in quotation marks? Sounds like a man who won't pay up when he loses if you ask me, and I've ran into a few of those. So I'm not going to add to the list. But I really don't see Iowa having upward momentum, and I believe a couple of their marquee wins from last year were anomalies to start with.

JB's Internet "bucks" are worth 2% of real dollars.

I doubt it. I don't have time to do the research, but here are some of his past entries (you can use the drop-down to look at the changes within each year):
