8. TCF Bank Stadium, Minnesota

The newest building in the Big Ten also serves beer — making it a must-see stop. Until it expands, however, it will still be one of the smallest in the league (11th). Minnesota ranked 45th nationally in attendance last fall and ninth in the Big Ten in average capacity. Jerry Kill is starting to make it work for his team, however, going 11-3 at home over the last two seasons.

Go Gophers!!

A small raucous crowd is better than a big one that has no impact on the game

It has been and will be, Mr. Happy-Pants.

Don't get me wrong - I have been to all but a few games at TCF and love going. However, I have been to 7 or 8 other B1G stadiums and all I can say is we have jNW and Purdue beat as far as a raucous crowd goes.

I'm disappointed in our crowd more often than not, I'm with you there. But when our little stadium is engaged and full it's legit loud. On a side-note, I've been to Lincoln 3 times and that crowd and stadium has to be the most overrated raucous crowd ever. Their home-field advantage is not intimidating.

I'm very intimidated by balloons.

A toilet like Camp Randall beats out the historic big house....yeah, this is legit.

As sad as it was to move off campus(especially to the Hump Dome), I'm sure glad we have TCF and not a revamped Memorial Stadium.

Love TCF Bank Stadium.

I guess I'm in the minority. I think the crowd is pretty good most of the time. Maybe it's just my vantage point in 103, the cool section.

Purdue, Northwestern and EIU were pretty loud. MTSU was pretty good too I guess. Iowa and OSU games were not nearly good enough however. Our loud crowds are pretty typical for a lot of other teams though.

I was in Ann Arbor in 2005 and I must say for the capacity of that place, it is really not loud at all. I can see Wisconsin being ahead of Michigan in this poll.

I went to a game there once and the noise just floats away. Not intimidating at all.

There is little to like about the Badgers. The State, The fans, The coaches, The Team - I hate them all. Camp Randall is also a dump, no doubt. However, the game day atmosphere and crowd participation they have is impressive - no way around it.

Having been to East Lansing, and Ann Arbor there is no comparison when it comes to crowd shall we say involvement. The Spartans are the more loyal, raucous, and vocal than there little brother. This is more about stadium size than fan support.

Nebraska's Memorial Stadium (and sellout streak) is a joke. If you are taller than 5 feet tall you have to crouch to get into the seating area. The seat you get is about 6 inches wide. As for the sellout, they may sell the tickets but they don't always attend. If the Huskers aren't winner, there will be several thousand open seats.

Michigan's next stadium upgrade should include some sort of massive canopy circling the entire Big House designed specifically to amplify crowd noise. 100k+ fans should sound like the mf gods of thunder.

I've seen the Gophers play in every Big Ten stadium minus Maryland & Rutgers......

There are a lot of places that I would trade atmospheres for....

There are ZERO stadiums I would trade for TCF Bank......

They might want to check that they have the correct names of each stadium. It's Spartan Stadium, not Spartans.

Beaver Stadium and The Big House vastly overrated. Beaver Stadium looks like an erector set, and The Big House (as others have pointed out) doesn't really get all that raucous. Perhaps that will start changing this year under Harbaugh.

Beaver Stadium may look like an erector set, but their lots are full on Friday with tailgaters, they fill every seat, they are loud, and they can pull off a "color-out". Again, I wouldn't trade TCF for Beaver Stadium, but I would trade atmospheres in a heartbeat.

I fully agree with this. Also, it isn't us old folks on GH that will change the atmosphere - it will only get more raucous with student support.
