Feds weigh allegations of gender inequity in University of Minnesota

Stuff like this doesn't happen at Ohio State, Wisconsin, etc. And we wonder why we can't get to their level. It's not a coincidence.

This says it all....this university is politically correct and doomed to mediocrity....

Don't forget about the transgender teams.

I'd be willing to bet we could field a relatively competitive transgender team. I used to live on the corner of Franklin and Hennepin. Liquor Lyles folks.

Rochester Post Bulletin: Teague quiet on heels of controversy

As for Thursday's article, Nanne considered it slanted. He said not enough voice was given to Gophers women's coaches who aren't on the side of the dissenters.

"This was done completely to create controversy," Nanne said. "They did it without ever giving the other side.

"The fact is, (college athletics) are a business, and if you cut (short) the revenue-making sports, all of the other sports (funding) suffers. We are trying to make ends meet."

Louie is on point as always.

Which could help the athletic department win another all sports Big Ten championship- assuming that the dance line and rowing team continue to be strong.

I wonder if they'll put Amelia on the non-rev beat. I can't see her getting anything from the men's bball team story wise after this.

Good point. Something about 'don't $%^ where you eat' should have crossed her mind there. But I'm guessing she didn't have a choice.

I think she had a choice as to whom to interview and what to put into the story (topic probably not). The fact that it's so one sided doesn't bode well for her imho.

You have to have the ability to string together consecutive complete thoughts to know you shouldn't write that story that way and expect to get more from that source ever again. She's proven incapable of that prerequisite multiple times.

Terrible would be a terrible choice of words to describe her ability as a journalist. She ads nothing, no character, no phrasing, nothing. The only constant in her work is incomplete work.

I have been taking heat for years on this board about the pathetic nature of this Athletic Department. I have been banned for my views and even threatened. I was a harsh critic of J Maturi and the previous administration for incompetence and neglecting the revenue producing sports. We finally have a athletic Director who get's it and we will run him off campus. This University is destined to be mediocre. This politically correct culture has to change. I hope Norwood stands up for that is right. Do the Pam B's types of the world even realize which programs actually pay the bills? I like Amelia personally, but I really hope she goes back to Carolina soon. In any other paper, this would be consider an OPED piece.

This piece has "agenda" written all over it.

Either the "powers that be" at the U and Strib made this happen, or Amelia and her editor are terrible at their job. Very one-sided and based off an anonymous complaint?

Let's be honest. You weren't banned because of your views on the athletic department. You were banned because you were a dink.

Maybe the Feds could weigh allegations of piss-poor luck for University of Minnesota football and basketball?
