...you had to use a line from Hawk Harrelson...perhaps the worst baseball announcer in any market...

No matter how much you might despise Petteway...that was just cruel to use a Hawk Harrelson phrase on the young man...
 

I don't mind the Hawk. He does have one of my favorite announcer lines of all time, speaking about a baseball bat. ...

"There's nothing like a good piece of ash."
 

Petteway played like he thought he was the best player in the country. Hated watched him, way too cocky
 

Not sure if I'd go so far to say addition by subtraction. He's a headcase but has talent. Nebraska might be really, really bad next year.

I totally agree. Like the gophers with Humphries, I wouldnt say he made anyone better and there was a lack of chemistry but you have to replace all that scoring and rebounding.

Guards or wings like Petteway are a must in the big ten when the offensive sets break down and someone has to beat there man for a basket, especially at the whistle swallowing end of games. Here is to hoping Mason and Morris can continue to make those kind of plays next year.

Problem for the Huskers is that is one less scorer for them. It's not like they had an abundance of other players who could put the ball in the hole, hence the heavy shot diet for Petteway. He will be missed, they will stink next year. Ultimately if you can't score you don't win, and therein lies the problem for Nebraska.
