He has been vastly superior to any PG we've had in 4 years. Never was offered.....?
He's a guy that has the look of someone who knows what he's doing out there.
He not only was never offered, but he wasn't offered at a time when we had a glaring need for a PG and had available scholarships. We had Mav though....
Definitely a ball-scratcher.
What year was he? Tubby or a Pitino miss?

Even in high school he was pretty good, he just wasn't as athletic as others like Corey Joseph, the fact that Tubby desperately needed one and didn't offer is what really hurts.
Being a Deep Insider, you should know that Chambers is a Senior and Pitino is in his second year.
Chambers is a junior.
Tubby

Easy math. somebody who can handle the ball, pass, and not turn the ball over. We didn't have one, Tubby didn't offerr one, outside of Cory Joseph, for three years.

10 ppg,36% from field, 4.3 dimes 2.3 to. in the IVY. Mathieu 9ppg, 45%, 4.3 dimes 1.6 turnovers and more steals in the Big Ten this year...last year Mathieu was a lot better than Chambers.
For every H.S. kid that exceeds expectations in college there are 20 that don't and are appropriately placed at the lower tier DI college or DII. There are also enough kids that miss expectations at all levels. When he was in high school there were legitamate reasons he wasn't offered a scolly by the major colleges. Hindsights 20/20. I think it is just appropriate to say "good for him, he is one that exceeded expectations", and leave it at that rather than try to lay blame to anyone or the system for not ID-ing the intangible that made the young man the 1 in 20. Anyone know where his younger brother landed/heading, graduated last year from Hopkins and was an effective HS point guard?
Every power conference coach in the country "missed" on him. His best offer was St. Louis. These threads are boring and repetitive.
Yep. For every guy that we "missed" there will be one that flames out. Next.
It's also hilarious that whenever we don't offer a MN kid with only mid-major offers the board freaks out and demands coaches be fired.
And yet, Joey King is the most hated Gopher for 90% of the season.
