Spartans Denzel Valentine: I'd rather see Minnesota and repay them, get payback

Michigan State coach Tom Izzo likes the concept of avenging some Big Ten losses at the league tournament in Chicago this weekend, and team captain Denzel Valentine is all in.

That's why Valentine said he's hoping Minnesota (18-14) beats Ohio State (22-9) in tonight's 9 o'clock game at the United Center in Big Ten tournament action.

"I would rather see (Minnesota) and repay them and get some payback,'' Valentine said with a smile. "But it really doesn't matter, because at the end of the day, our goal is not to beat Minnesota, it's to win the championship.''
