2024-25 Big Ten Free Agent Signings

Great Osobor (Utah State) follows his coach to Washington. Nice pickup for the Huskies.

Not exactly apples to apples but we have added 70.5 points to our roster plus a couple freshmen.
This offsets the 50.3 points we lost.
You could make the argument we will better....got some more experience too.

20 of those points are a true wildcard in Caleb Williams. Will his game translate at the Big Ten level? It sure did against us but.........

Are you counting Christie's points as lost?
Obviously you are not counting the points added by Christie's portal replacement which is unknown.

I will be surprised if Christie returns...so yes. And I will also be surprised if we add another player
who expects to play significant minutes.

Most all are making a fairly significant jump....Mitchell being the biggest unknown but...?
Caleb is not likely to average 20 for the Gophers. :) Time will tell.

You’re obviously an MIAC guy, 60’s Guy. Looks good on paper by adding Williams numbers in there.

Coach Tinkle is making it rain in Seattle...
Coach Sprinkle is in Seattle, Coach Tinkle is in Corvallis. Your joke would've still worked, though it would have been significantly less gross and a little too on-the-nose. Like saying Payne is a pain.

I will say this- Ben has done a pretty good job of getting guys to perform at or even above what they did at a lower level.

Fox was very productive with his minutes this past year- D2
Hawkins did similar at Howard to his stats here
Cooper did about the same here as at Morehead State
EJ Stephens scored a little less here than at Lafayette but was effective here
Sean Sutherlin scored less here than at New Hampshire but about the same minute for minute

Take that Stephens, Willis, Battle, Sutherlin team and add Garcia to it and that might have been an 8-10 win team. So it can be done.

Woops. On that note, I'm shocked Tinkle hasn't been fired yet.

Good post! Mike Mitchell as well. Per 40 minutes, Mitchell averaged 13.6 points as a soph at Pepperdine and 13.8 as a junior here. His True Shooting Percentage was .560 as a Pepperdine soph and .558 here.

Sparty inks free agent C Szymon Zapala (Longwood).
That's an interesting pickup just looking at his stats- His productivity per minute was amazing for a guy who only played 16 minutes per game last year. 9+ points and 6 boards. Why would a guy who with that size and that productivity only play 16 minutes per game at Longwood??

Maybe whomever he defended in those games had twice the productivity that he did.
