Gophers Fall 88-81 in Double OT

Early on, it looked like Minnesota was going to get blown out in its first road game of the season. 45 minutes later, it appeared that the Gophers had won. But Jamal Abu-Shamala’s buzzer-beater was ruled a two-pointer, sending the game into its second extra period. Lawrence McKenzie fouled out shortly thereafter, the Gopher offense sputtered, and UAB pulled away.
