Triplett says the U would be his dream school.
Christian Triplett, a rising senior from Delano (MN) High, is one of the top players in the state in the Class of 2014. The younger brother of former Gopher Nate, attended the Minnesota Senior one day camp and talked to Gopher Hole about the latest on his recruitment.
Gopher Hole: What camps have you had a chance to attend so far?
Christian Triplett: Iowa, Minnesota and NDSU.
Gopher Hole: Are you planning on attending any other camps?
Gopher Hole: What schools are you hearing from right now?
Christian Triplett: Iowa, Minnesota, NDSU, and Northern Illinois.
Gopher Hole: Any offers yet. I know that it is still so early?
Christian Triplett: No.
Gopher Hole: Do you feel that when you go to these camps that you are able to pick up some things that are going to help you improve as a player?
Christian Triplett: Yes. Just moving your hips. Keep the hands going and move your feet.
Gopher Hole: You look like you’ve got a little bit bigger than last year. What are you up to height and weight-wise right now?
Christian Triplett: About 6-4, 289.
Gopher Hole: What were you last year?
Christian Triplett: 6-3, 270.
Gopher Hole: What is the latest on your brother. I haven’t heard anything new on him lately?
Christian Triplett: He is out of the NFL. He is getting a job with the Gophers in construction management.
Gopher Hole: You have been close to the Gopher program after watching him in his career here. Would Minnesota be a dream school for you?
Christian Triplett: Yes. It would be a dream school.
Gopher Hole: What are you hearing from the Gophers?
Christian Triplett: They are going to keep me posted. They said to come to camp.
Gopher Hole: I know that you had a good season at Delano last year. What are the expectations for the upcoming season?
Christian Triplett: Go to state.
Gopher Hole: Do you have most of your guys back or did you lose a lot of guys?
Christian Triplett: We have most of our guys back. Backs, quarterbacks, most of our lineman and most of our skill set guys.
Gopher Hole: I know that you played a couple of different positions last year. What are you going to be playing this year?
Christian Triplett: Tight end and D-Line
Gopher Hole: What positions are most colleges looking at you playing?
Christian Triplett: Either O-Line or D-Line.
Gopher Hole: Do you have a preference?
Christian Triplett: I don’t really care.
