Gopher Hole: What is that you like about Minnesota the most?

Demaris Peppers: They are recruiting me pretty hard. I like that they are in the Big 10 and I like the coaching staff. Wherever they have been, they have won. They were at SIU (Southern Illinois) and they went from 1-10 to winning ten games.

Gopher Hole: What other schools are you hearing from the most besides Minnesota?

Demaris Peppers: Arkansas State and Houston.

Gopher Hole: Is there a chance that if you like Minnesota on your visit that you could see yourself committing soon? Or are you going to definitely take some other visits?

Demaris Peppers: I could see myself committing, if it goes well.

Gopher Hole: Have you talked to the other two schools’ coaches about trying to set up a visit yet?

Demaris Peppers: No, I haven’t.

Gopher Hole: How is your season going so far?

Demaris Peppers: We have only played two games so far. We are 1-1. The first game, we played Hampton. It was 16-8 in the season opener. Our defense really held up and held a good team to just eight points. We lost to White Haven High School. It is a pretty big school, compared to us. We are kind of small. Usually, the are the Goliaths of the city. They scored twice in the first half. We shut them out in the second half, but our offense scored just once.

Gopher Hole: Are you still hearing from any other schools or are you pretty much down to those three?

Demaris Peppers: Those are the top three so far.

Gopher Hole: What are your strengths as a football player?

Demaris Peppers: Really, just a hard worker who will do what needs done

Gopher Hole: Are most schools recruiting you as a defensive end?

Demaris Peppers: Some put me at D End. Some recruit me as a D Tackle.

Gopher Hole: Have you ever been to Minnesota before?

Demaris Peppers: No, I haven’t.

Gopher Hole: What do you know about Minnesota?

Gopher Hole: Have you thought about what you would like to major in?

Demaris Peppers: I have thought about athletic training or secondary education.

Gopher Hole: Do you play any sports besides football now or are you just football only?

Demaris Peppers: I play football and track. I do the shot and discus. I wasn’t able to do it this past season. I was really mostly in the weight room, getting ready for the season, but this year, I’ll be throwing again. I did pretty good. I made to regions and finished in third place.

Gopher Hole: Do you think that throwing thew shot put and discus helps you for football in terms of strength training and foot work?

Demaris Peppers: Yes.

Gopher Hole: What are you hoping to see from your visit to Minnesota that is going to make you think that this is the place that you want to be?

Demaris Peppers: I don’t know. I’ll have to wait and see on my visit. I want to see what is up there for me.
