WTF Empty seats Section 230! Proof

As I sat in my seat in Section 141 row 17 and looked over my shoulder to the right I couldn't believe my eyes- EMPTY SEATS in the upper sections of 230 & 229..! WTF
Especially after all the hype of being Sold-Out and The Best Stadium in the Country..!
Great stadium yes, but NOT completely filled and here's the proof.

I know this is tongue in cheek. But sitting in a local extablishment there were quite a few people who left at half time because they wanted to have a few drinks with their friends.

These were student sections, would seem appropriate, since they scan your ticket to your student ID, that there would be a couple hundred students who were either out of town or too drunk to make it through an entire day of drinking.

Those were student seats. I wonder if there were that many tickets that students sold to people without U Cards?

I was in the student section and it was packed. I am pretty sure there were more people per bench than numbered seats, that may be why.

There are always going to be a few no shows. You don't notice scattered no-shows in the non-student section. But because the student section is not assigned seats, those who show up will take the better seats, leaving the empty seats concentrated in the poorest seats of the student section.

Yeah, i bet there were, on average, one or two more people per row than the technical number of seats in those rows. Plus some people are sick with flu... i know its running through the marching band, so it is around the U.

There were probably 100 no shows in the student section but the reason it looks like empty seats is because the space for each seat is enormous and people were squeezing tightly together closer to the field.

Almost every student section that is general admission with benches is a little empty in the corners because the students cram together. The numbers were all there, they just used up less space.

Let it go this time since game never been there (TCF) before and seats being bleachers you don't want to oversell. Next time give out 600 extra student tickets.

I sit in 215 and noticed the entire top of the stadium behind the student sections had fans standing all the way around. There were way more people standing than empty bench seating in that corner.

Solution...

Sell Standing Room Only Tickets. Those seats would be filled.

I was in section 121 and people were standing on benches as well as people standing in the rows.

They were having a hayday with this thread on the Iowa rivals board. Iowa fans arrogance astounds me, I dislike them more and more everyday. They think they are like an Ohio State or something, when they havent done nothing.
