That is the guy. Hope he gets a good impression of the U.

Just threw this in the recruits this weekend thread but there is a poster on the scout board saying Green will choose between us and Rutgers sometime next week.

Same poster is also saying Chris Hawkins is jumping ship for TCU. So Green would be his replacement/upgrade.

I'd gladly take this kid looks like he was a massive prospect last year, and if he got his academics taken care of he'll be here in January. Also this would mean we'd have two Green WR's...

Well, we need him, especially if we are losing Hawkins. C'mon JG!!! Give us some love!

I think this year proved to me we're not as deep at WR as I had thought. All of the young guys have some potential, but I have most hope for Brandon Green, and to a lesser degree McKnight. I think Allen is just too little, at least for the near future.

that guy us getting his info from the GI war room...

Ahhhhh gotcha. I wouldn't normally quote a poster, but he's been right with his unfounded news before. Nice to know where he's getting his stuff from.

I just watched his video on ESPN, very similar style to Micheal Floyd, big time jumper with good body control. Not the fastest, but he's pretty big. Good prospect.

Let's try to avoid matters as they pertain to one's race, creed, etc. :p

Would love to have him, as his stuff looks like it's cleared up now. We could definitely use him.

He's gonna get one look at that snow and feel that arctic air and run his 4.6 back to FL.

Gophers507: Strange theory if he's choosing between Minnesota and Rutgers as has been reported.

LOL

I love this kid's film, but I said the same thing! Not a fan of this as a visit date.
Further, what is the hidden issue with this kid? 3 years of eligibility and former 4 star WR and this is only a two horse race? I wish I could tell myself that this was because of outstanding recruiters, rather than damaged goods.

I believe four years of eligibility. My understanding is he had to retake his ACT, basically a gray shirt. For whatever reason, he is not sticking with Tennessee. Any gray shirt can sign with any team, they just usually stay with the original team (e.g., Gray, Reeves, Campion, etc.).

Speaking of TCU, I noticed that they weren't resting on their laurels after stealing Josh Huff from our herd, they went out and sniped Ethan Grant from Oregon this week. Grant if you recall was an early season visitor of the Gophers and friend of Victor Kiese and many thought he was hooked and on the line for Brew' for some time.
Now they seem indeed likely to poach Chris Hawkins. Not bad for a program that has struggled mightily in recruiting just a few years ago. Too bad they seem to have found fertile hunting ground amongst Minnesota's Texan verbal commits.:banghead:

It's worth noting that the coach that recruited him to Tennessee just bolted for Florida State to be part of Jimbo Fisher's new staff. I have to believe that is the main reason he is checking us out now

It looks like we were recruiting him the first time around so he may have already had a favorable impression.

According to GI, he gave a verbal today, great news after a rough week.
