What an amazing win for the Gophers! Purdue is a comer, and they found a way to win

Seems like we've had a whole bunch of "Wow!" and "What the hell!" games against Purdue. Being on the winning end in one of them makes it even sweeter! Oh, and so does an Iowa loss!:cheer:

To us, Purdue and Northwestern are two sides of the same coin...the pain in the a$$ silver dollar! Getting the W
against both is very sweet indeed!

Kill me now

* - Minnesota 3-0 6-1
Iowa 2-1 5-2
Northwestern 2-1 3-3
Nebraska 1-1 5-1
Wisconsin 1-1 4-2
Purdue 1-3 3-5
Illinois 0-3 3-4

If NW takes care of Neb, that really sets nicely for MN.

One of the nice benefits of this win is that you know the team will be ready to play at Illinois. Not a chance now of looking past them.

This one looked lost & gone forever...same as it ever was. For about 2 solid quarters. Then this group--players and coaches, fans at the game also--dug WAY down and got the $@$#$@$ job done! I've been a Gopher football fan for 50 years and have never been prouder. Congrats to Coach Kill & the rest of you. What a day!

Yeah, we got a lot of crapazz football out of our system in the first half. I think a lot of our guys were reading about themselves a little too much on the internet and maybe took PU too lightly.

Hazell has PU moving in the right direction. They'll be a PitA in the future. Here' story "Boiler Up!" In the rest of their BT-W games

Ditto that - again, special teams and defense save the day - also Leidner's passing impressive in second half and Cobb amazing, as usual. We're the first B10 team bowl eligible. Have to admit: Purdue very impressive.

It was funny post game I was talking to an older guy and he said I can't imagine being a Purdue fan. I bet they feel empty after that. I said yeah just like the gophers playing Purdue over the years. Felt so good to be on the other side today

Didn't know what to expect, but they were good. Nice use of their personnel. I can see why the Gophers really wanted Akeem Hunt when he was coming out of high school. Can see the Gophers using Berkeley Edwards in a similar way (although our offense is much different than Purdue's).

Per your earlier post, does this mean you don't have to be a jerk now. ;)

I'm a happy camper right now. I'm not used to our Gophers showing grit like that. I still can't believe we came from behind.

All the good teams find ways to win, no matter what's happening. Whether it's bone headed calls by the refs, mistakes on the defense, or offensive turnovers, the good teams will find a way to win. This game was better than the Northwestern game... The Gophers overcame so much to edge out a win. This was an impressive win!

These last two weeks remind me of a team that has BCS Championship hopes and finds themselves in a nail biter against two inferior opponents.

Except we aren't a top 10 team, but it still felt like that.

Found it interesting the AP even mentioned the questionable officiating in their article (or whoever espn used, I'm just assuming it's the AP). It's pretty rare you see that

You can't prove we aren't ;)

Have to agree with you here from an offensive perspective, but there defense leaves something to be desired. They go to Nebraska, then play both NW and Wisconsin at home. Maybe they can pull a win out of thin air, and if they do it'll probably be a shoot-out.

Agreed. Purdue is improving. They're going to upset a team or two. Glad it wasn't us.

I'm hoping NW knocks off Nebraska tonight, then Purdue slaps NW a loss later this year. Boy o boy would that be a nice combo platter.

No one is used to it! Dare I say these aren't the same old Gophers?
