Just lost to Iowa State at home. Ouch.

Stats were amazing

And, Iowa State was starting a redshirt freshman at quarterback. And a freshman at running back (to replace DeLasalle's Alexander Robinson). Wow. Iowa State was +8 for the day on turnovers

its the same talk that is going on here. programs are in similar situations. IMO Nebraska has more upper class talent is the main difference.

Does anyone know what happened to Alexander Robinson?

I remember seeing him play in high school. Man was he fun to watch!

I believe we were on Zac Lee's (the Nebraska QB) short list when he was coming out of JC.

Two home losses in a row for Pelini. The crank telephones in Nebraska will be working overtime this week.

Nagging injury. As of October 18, he was leading the Big 12 in rushing. I honestly thought he would be too small to excel at that level. I was very wrong.

How could this be?

Just lost to Iowa State at home. Ouch.

Nebraska has better players, by far.

The Cyclones started a freshman at QB due to injury, A Freshman at RB due to injury, and a Freshman Offensive Tackle due to illness and still won.

I thought coaching was over-rated and it didn't matter, having better players did.

Bet Nebraska was surprised. Maybe they can get us back on the NC schedule to bring normalcy back to the recruiting rankings.

I realize that this is referring back to a thread from a couple of weeks ago, but I did watch the Nebraska/ISU game this afternoon (thanks DVR) and the Husker fans did in fact give ISU an ovation as they left the field. I'm just pointing it out for those who continue to believe that it's a requisite to "hate" the opposition. It isn't.

A funny quote from after the game from the ISU coach - he was asked about his team's performance and he said (paraphrasing)....."the other guys coached a heck of a game to give up 8 turnovers and still get beat by just two points". It was pretty cool watching him get fired up after the game in front of some ISU fans though - college football is awesome.

I agree. I am a Nebraska alum, and although I hate to see them lose, it is hard not to be happy for ISU and coach Rhoads. Especially after the Chizik years!

I watched the Huskers against Va Tech, Mizzou, and the end of the game today, and they are about as inept on offense as we are. Fortunately for them, they have Ndamukong Suh and a pretty good defense overall.

I was actually at the NU ISU game, (Family big Nebraska fans, I bleed maroon and gold, bonding trip) and the main conversation surrounding the outcome made me think I was in MN. Zac Lee looked like garbage, and their back up, Cody Green 6-4 220 is a very similar talent to Queis, and criminally underused. The sentiment is let the Frosh play. My take? I've had patience with Weber, I've cheered for Weber, but I am completely and utterly done with him. I'm done with the Ocho, bring in the Cinco.

they were cheering the Nebraska defense, not ISU.

That may be true as well - but on TV (which you likely wouldn't have seen as you were at the game) they specifically showed the ISU tunnel long after the game had ended when ISU players and coaches were leaving the field together and it was surrounded by Nebraska fans all standing and cheering for them (and all turning to face them as well which leads me to believe the applause was indeed directed towards ISU). Given that it's consistent with my personal experience at Memorial Stadium I'm inclined to believe the Husker fans were classy towards their opponent today.

While I'm glad I didn't witness the -8 in takeaways in person today I'm jealous you were at the game...I haven't been for a couple of years and I can't wait for another game in Lincoln.

This post is like something Sid does - anytime the Gophers get done he says "How would you like to be ________" (another team who gets detroyed the same week as us)

Classic case of deflection

There are about 4,000 threads in full bloodletting, sky-is-falling mode that have been started with regard to yesterday's game. That not enough for you? Got to come on this one OT thread and make your little comment?

Thanks for every last one of those 13 posts you've made. You've really helped make this community the thriving spot for Gopher sports that it's become.

Same situation? We lost to tOSU. They lost to IOWA STATE. Big differance.

The thread was referring to the Neb boards, I was referring to their boards and the type of talk that is taking place. (same situation being the fire the coach, bench the QB talk) By me saying the difference is that they have more talent is more of an insult that they lost to ISU.
