They are getting almost 10 yards a carry, but for some reason keep throwing with Clifford who is killing every drive.

No wonder the job was open.

The job was open because their former OC took a FBS HC job at Old Dominion. Not because he sucked.

...no, Ricky Rahne is objectively a bad OC. Just go ask any PSU fan. I dont think he was long for this world on PSU’s coaching staff, he just happened to snag the ODU gig. Can’t scheme well and was a terrible play caller. In our game, he was calling fades to 5’9” KJ Hamler in the back of the end zone.

What if the runs are working because the defense was thinking Penn State might throw

Yes, athletic directors are stupid and hire people who are bad at their jobs. Moreover, it's a great idea to judge people's competence on the basis of one play. What scintillating takes you have.

When you have the 10th ranked talent that Penn State has at your disposal (4 Five-Stars, 46 Four-Stars, and 25 mostly high Three-Stars), you certainly can outlast a 71th ranked Memphis team (4 Four-Stars, 55 Three-Stars) with good coaching fundamentals. The PSU depth simply wore the Tigers down.

It will make any coach look good with that kind of talent level. Look for the Nittany Lions to rock under Ciarrocca next season.

Memphis is a lot like the Gophers talent level wise. If PSU was playing in against the Tigers in Memphis, an upset is entirely possible.

If the Tigers had two additional game changing talent (like Iowa's five-star Epenesa an an extra top notch offensive lineman or DB/WR/RB) in their roster it is entirely possible that they would have beaten Penn State. They have a good QB.

The same thing is true about the Gophers. They are not that far away from being a Big Ten West champion caliber team.

I was giving that as one example, but ok. You dont have to take my word for it, go ask PSU fans. I'm sure you think Tim Brewster was a phenomenal hire too based off of that logic.
