I say yes, but not over Bobby Jackson, who was a better overall player...

maybe over Jacobsen? Playing 3 guards...

No he would be the 9th man in a 8 man rotation, zero minutes.

There is no such thing as a gopher-badger-man.

The sophomore/junior version of Voshon Lenard starts with Harris-Jackson-James-Thomas. The frosh/senior version plays behind Sam Jacobson. I think his best season was his sophomore year. I thought he got selfish his junior year and regressed his senior season.

ok then...

I have explained this before - undergrad UW and grad degree at UM...if you can't deal with it, then sorry...

Spot on.

I tend to agree with you on this. Didnt he declare for draft then pull back after Junior year? I remember some big shots and games at the barn from him though. Pure excitement when he was a frosh here in a couple of games, maybe against Michigan?

Could Mighty Mouse beat up Superman?

(from "Stand by Me" 1986)...

Vern: Do you think Mighty Mouse could beat up Superman?
Teddy: What are you, cracked?
Vern: Why not? I saw the other day. He was carrying five elephants in one hand!
Teddy: Boy, you don't know nothing! Mighty Mouse is a cartoon. Superman's a real guy. There's no way a cartoon could beat up a real guy.
Vern: Yeah, maybe you're right. It'd be a good fight, though.

Learn a little about hoops and you'll figure out that nobody gives a damn about who starts a game. The 5 on the floor when the shot clock's turned off are the guys who matter.

Ok - dont know why the venom here...

I rank Jackson & Harris #1 & #2 as the best defensive guards in Gopher basketball history.

While I liked the freshman & sophomore version of Voshon, I have nothing but disdain for the senior Lenard who showed up fat and bitter after being drafted in the 2nd round after his junior season and was told to go back to school for another year (by the Bucks, I believe).

More important than if he wouldve started or not, (which I think he wouldve over Eric Harris, move Bobby to point, Voshon the 2) he would've been a more dependable 3rd scorer than Quincy, Charles Thomas, or any of the big guys. He might've been what we needed to compete with Kentucky in that national semifinal game, and maybe win the whole thing.

Absolutely he starts. 2nd best player on team behind Jackson.

Exactly. One of the purest scorers in Gopher history. Yes, his Sr. season wasn't the greatest, but he is the leading point scorer for a reason.
