Houston Nutt is rumored to be in Minnesota interviewing for the Gophers job.

I hate even posting rumors. I really do.

Please do not let this man near your campus.

Wow, supposedly Nutt and Fedora are both in town interviewing today. This makes me wonder if any of this is true.

Ha! Funny. Things are getting juicy right now. The rumor mill has hit a new gear. The names are coming fast and furious.

It's funny here that as much as everyone hated Houston Nutt people are so hung up on what he is doing on a daily basis.

Isn't he a slime ball?

Edit: I was getting Nutt confused with Bobby Petrino

Pretty much covers the Mississippi prospects. Hope they flew 'em in the same Cessna.

Care to share why he is so hated? Is it just the bolting to Ole Miss? I talked to some Hog fans at the SEC Championship in 2006 I believe and he was still beloved then...

Anybody but Nutt case.

Isn't he a slime ball?

I don't think so. I was in Fayetteville when he was hired and released. What i think I saw was someone with average intellect but above average coaching skills trying to live with an AD who is a football expert (Broyles) and a fan base that likes to try and influence football decisions. My perspective was that to some extend he was "told" what to do rather than let him run his own program. Mustain/Malzahn was a big part of that

At the time the UArk was raising $1Billion, and the excessive touch points for funds bled over into football discussions/demands. the Hogs is Arkansas are a religion.....

the guy is 500 in the SEC. Thats not all bad. He's also the one that first started the turn around at Boise State then he went on to Arkansas.

Not my first choice, but I'll support him

I think most of it stems from him when Gus Malzahn was hired. Gus was supposed to run the offense and Nutt never really let that happen. Gus (classy guy) left and most believed that he was run off and then some of the best players left along with him.

There was a thread about him the other day that stated he had a great record as a head coach.
What most people don't see is that his best two years are when he takes over a program and has other coaches players. After that it usually goes down hill. There was an exception at Arkansas due to some guys named Matt Jones, Darren McFadden, Peyton Hillis, and Felix Jones.

Also the way he harps on everything. After every loss we heard the same speech about how we were the better team and how it was special and we were right there and wait until next year. Blah Blah Blah.

Also the fact that he was always flirting with other head coaching positions after talking so much about how he LOVED Arkansas and that helmet.

Hmm. That sounds a little too familiar for comfort. Was he fond of the word 'tremendous'?

FWIW - Those opinions are from part of the Arkansas fan base. Not everyone in Arkansas has the same opinion. He is a great motivator. He can get teams fired up.

I believe that if we are going to interview Nutt than we should interview Malzahn. That guy is a offensive innovator.
