Gopher athletic teams made it 2-for-2 this fall against Wisconsin yesterday when the Golden Gopher women's soccer team downed Wisconsin 2-1 in overtime in Madison.
The Badgers scored first but the Gophers came back with goals from Angie Olson in the 50th minute and then got a penalty kick opportunity in overtime thanks to a foul on Marissa Price. Katie Bethke followed up by scoring on the pk in the 98th minute to give Minnesota the win. For the game, the Gophers held a 21-8 edge in shots, including 10-3 in shots on goal.
With the win, the Gophers improve to 8-2-2 overall and 2-0-1 in the Big Ten. The ladies return home to host South Dakota on Sunday. Congrats on the win ladies!!!
