tied 19 to 19 at the half. This team is ven more boring than its usual self!!

Struggles to beat Penn State at home. Tied with Nebraska at half. Wonder how their next 7 games will play out...

@Indiana
@Iowa
MSU
Minnesota

Not that I really mind, but would it be better, organization-wise, for us to have an "Other Games" thread? Or an "Other Big Ten Games" one? I occasionally like to look back at them, but generally they drop down so quickly that it takes some effort to find. If we had one thread, it would be neater and easier to find.

But yeah, 19-19 is... tough to watch. I'm sure they won't care, though, if they come up with the W. I kinda thought they would open it up slightly this year, with Dekker (but maybe that is just me mis-remembering some of his recruiting notes?)

I think an 'OTHER B1G GAMES THREAD' would be a good idea.

there is a good chance they could go 1-10 in next 11games with the way they have played so far this season and thats me being nice giving them the win at home against Iowa, which is not lock. Its mind boggling to me from reading through badger forums that most think they can get into the dance still, and it took awhile for them to finally say they aren't a top4 B1G team this year and even longer for them to say Gophers are better, and there are still some who think badgers will be top4 and say that they are better than gophers.

.

Based on there lack of guard play and overall lack of athleticism, I could see them going 6-10 in their remaining 16...if they lose to NE, that is 7-11 Big Ten Record. So 10 or 11 loses is what I predict for WI.

I'm down for a weekly thread, would keep all the comments about ugly games in one area.

The Wisconsin vs Nebraska game is a complete abortion of what basketball is supposed to be.

37-36 with 6:33 left in the 2nd half?

Wisconsin is the what everyone else in the nation is talking about when they disrespect B1G basketball for being boring.

I can admit that UW is not a top 4 team this year, and that Minnesota has a better squad this season. Congrats on finally being relevant again. :p

I think your comment that there's a good chance they win 1 of the next 10 is a bit ridiculous though. The talent in the backcourt is really sub-par. The had bad luck in losing far and away their best guard, but Bo deserves some criticism for a couple poor recruiting classes that left him thin on guards. That said, I can still see them getting to 9-9, maybe even 10-8, either of which would probably get them in the tournament. Of the games in the stretch you listed, I think there's a good chance they win against Illinois, Iowa, at Northwestern, Nebraska and Purdue. They already have pair of wins, those games would get them to 7 wins, and at Penn St. would get them to 8. I could also see a win against Michigan St. or Ohio St. in Madison. Definitely a down year for Badger basketball, but I think the future looks pretty good with guys like Dekker, Koenig, Hayes and Brown.

In the larger picture, I see Michigan as the best team in the conference, with Indiana and Minnesota in the top tier. I think Michigan St. and Ohio St. are in the next tier, with Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa battling for the 6-8 positions.

Wow. I wish we could score 19 in the first half.

Worst half in a long time.

Speaking of boring...

I wonder how many possessions each team had in the first half. It seemed like NW took their first shot under 10 seconds in just about every possession.

Carmody's gameplan was really, really good. The Gophers like to run, and NW was outmatched at every position. As such, to have any chance at winning NW slowed the game down to keep the game from running away. This type of strategy worked until the Gophers got a significant lead, at which point NW had to actually attempt to score.

I was waiting a long time for the Gophers to get to that 6-8 point lead. Once that happened, and NW had to get out of their gameplan, it was over.

Are y'all done laughing at Wisconsin yet?

Seriously. Apparently they don't suck.

I know most of us here hate them...but don't let that hate cloud your basketball judgement.

Yes, they've lost four games, but three of those were to teams that are currently in the top 25.

Wisconsin does not suck.

Wisconsin sucks. Their basketball team is good, but Wisconsin always sucks.

Worst. Post. Of. The. Year.

I didn't see you predicting otherwise. hindsight is 20/20. Like to see anyone predict that Indiana shoots 27% from 3 point land tonight

My theory is that Becky has won their last two games because Minnesota has worn those teams out in the previous game. Minnesota is tremendously physical and makes teams work hard. If Becky hadn't followed Minnesota against Illinois and Indiana they never would have won. (I say this tongue-in-cheek by the way.)

I am not dumb enough to predict against Bo. Bo owns Crean and Izzo.
