Why is Fleck to blame ?

Did he miss the FG ?

3. The AD has raised little to no money in his tenure. 4. Fleck just got an extension and I'm pretty sure he will get another at the end of this season. Beat Wisconsin and pretty sure moves to 100%. 5. We'll cut wrestling to save money before we fire Fleck...not happening this year or next.

Would be absolutely stupid to fire him

Exactly. Minnesota as far as donor support is one of the weakest or poorest P5 schools with donors and you need donors for buyouts and hiring big name high dollar coaches.
 





I wouldn't fire him till after 2024 at the earliest unless next year is something terrible like 3-4 wins.

He punted twice on 4th and short early in the game. Iowa went for it on 4th and short and ended with their only TD. Not sure what that means, but one coach is willing to take a chance to make a play to win the game and the other coach proudly states “more games are lost than are won.”

He recruited the kicker who missed the FG.

He overworked his star running back which probably contributed to the fumble.

He put together an offense where he feels like he needs to overwork his star running back to have a chance.

Not saying it's time to fire him but at this point the everything comes back to him. These are all his recruits so there's no one else to blame.

100% this. Since Fleck has taken over, we've enjoyed the most sustained success in twenty years. And dopes are mad? Goldfish memory.

And going forward, for buying good players. Unless some big money comes into this program, it's going to be an issue for a number of years.

Fleck has had one great year with maybe three or four of his players making a difference the rest he inherited. He had a good year last year otherwise he’s been mediocre at best and the games are many times like watching paint dry even when we win.

it could be wayyyy worse. I’ve seen wayyyy worse. He has his struggles, but he is a winner overall and runs a heck of a straight program. Fleck represents the U well, doesn’t embarrass us, and we actually have a chance in every game, even against really good teams. I am very frustrated after tonight but firing Fleck would be an idiotic move.
