with the exception of gordon and stave (stave doesnt scare me)... wisconsin loses 2 O lineman all 4 defensive lineman, borland and armstrong,, 2 dbacks,, james white abberwhatever and Pederson the tight end.. thats a ton of guys.. we lose hageman vereen hill and manuel.. our whole offense is back and will add edwards and hopefully jones if he sticks to his commitment.. our defense has depth so my only worry would be the D Tackle spot.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Gordon declare for the draft (unless he has said otherwise). I think he's the best RB prospect in the college game this season. Wisconsin will lose a good nucleus, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are still pretty good. They've been recruiting fairly well.

I think with Gordon's recent drop in production, he's probably dropping a bit as for as his NFL projection as well. Also, his cousin is joining the team next year. Most insiders on Badger sites have heard he's almost for sure staying. Obviously a Round 1 grade can and should change his thought process, but I don't see that happening. He's not a complete player by any stretch yet.

As for who we lose next year, Abbrederis will be the most difficult to replace. Our defensive front seven is excellent this year, but the guys behind them are getting a lot of reps too and are playing very well. We rotate our two deep a ton, so our younger guys are still getting 15-20 snaps a game. The younger guys are more athletic; lots of speed being worked into the new 3-4 scheme. I'm very excited to see it. Also, Sojourn Shelton, a freshman DB, has been playing very well and will likely end up with all conference honors of some sort. Mike Caputo, a sophomore safety, is also playing lights out.

I think our O-line will actually improve next year. Four of our five starters return. Biggest issue will be WR. Luckily, we are recruiting WR very well this year. Pulled a kid out of Georgia with offers from Florida, FSU, Clemson and Georgia. We lead for Kamara, a top 100 wr from Virgina, and we are about to flip Darien Watkins, another 4* WR currently committed to Northwestern. Hopefully one of them can step up next season. Replacing Abbrederis will be very difficult; he's the best wr I've seen at Wisconsin since Chris Chambers.

Thanks for the update. I think the kid is all-world, but given how the running back position has changed so much at the pro level in the last decade, I don't see how any kid playing RB--regardless of how good he is--can earn a solid 1st ranking that they could "cash" with any certainty. I agree on Abbrederis. I always thought Nick Toon was woefully overrated and unfairly overshadowed some of the other receivers you've had.

defense loses a lot of players but badgers also have a ton back that have played a lot. borland will be missed big time. offense will be excellent with returning starter at qb plus 4 of 5 o lineman. gordon will come back and clement is going to be great. this will be a very good badger team next year despite losing some talented players in white, abby, borland, and beau allen.

The loss of Abbrederis will be felt, I'm sure. I thought in the last two season that he alone was responsible for either winning a few games, or the Badgers at least putting up a strong showing (against OSU this year, Wisky gets absolutely boat-raced without Abbrederis). The defensive losses will be tough, no doubt. Tough to lose 8 in your front 7 without feeling that a little bit.

The schedule makers, yet again, have smiled on Wisky next year though. After opening with a neutral site game against LSU, the Gophers could actually be one of the toughest game on the schedule if you can believe that, with Wisky managing to avoid Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State (not sure what adding Rutgers and Maryland have, both either barely bowl eligible or fighting to get there in somewhat weak conferences).

A) I think looking at next year's schedule and deciding whether it's easy or hard is difficult. Michigan, Northwestern, and PSU were all quality teams last year and they're all ranked in the bottom half of the latest ESPN power rankings.

B) We've discussed this before here, but I think what happened with the B1G schedules the next two years is that they tried to get the new joiners games against all the top teams and doing so gave those teams easier schedules. This is especially true of Wisconsin. After all, 6 of your 8 games are gonna be against your division, and the West certainly LOOKS to be the weaker of the two divisions.

Wisconsin will lose some good players for sure, but they have been built for sustainability, so don't have delusions that they are magically going to be bad next year. Alvarez hired a very good coach who is probably a better recruiter and has contacts in CA for talent. Jerry needs to get some true playmakers at WR and keep Jones committed and work Edwards into the mix for some big play ability. Need some more beef at DT to replace the two seniors. Oregon State completely shut down their run game last season with undersized, but very quick D linemen, so it can be done different ways. I hope Gordon goes pro. He is a hell of a player.

Wisconsin won't be bad next year I see them winning 8 games next year, just don't see them winning the big ten

With Wisconsin losing everybody in their front 7 and us getting of entire offensive line and running back core back hopefully we can run through them like a hot knife through butter, losses of Pedersen and abrederis should hurt and hopefully Gordon goes pro leaving with james white graduating leaving Corey Clement the talented but inexperienced back as their only option for position
