Why do most of the national people seem to have wisconsin in over us? Didn't we beat them twice? We have the best win in the entire conference. Could they take wisconsin, but not us?

I think the trap we fall into is that it's not really a comparison of us and them. It's who looks stronger against the entire field. While I'm still hoping it's us there are reasons to put Wiscy ahead of us.

I think the trap the talking heads fall into is that they're just not able to change their tunes. Wisconsin has been better for a long time. If they have to spit hairs the safe call is wisconsin. thankfully I don't think the actual comittee will have the same difficulty.

They Are Not

Sweeping, plus our W vs. L'ville gives us a slight edge.

I really hope you're right. Its just concerning that Lunardi has us last for in instead of wisconsin. I'd feel 100X better right now if those were swapped.

I think you're confusing Lunardi and Shlabach. Lunardi has us a #10 seed last time I checked.

I think Lunardi screwed up the "Last Four In" because he lists us there as an 11 seed but he has Wisconsin getting a 12 seed and not listed as the "Last Four In." I'm no bracketologist but I fail to understand how we can have a higher seed and yet we are getting in to the tourney behind Wisconsin.

We should be in ahead of them now. Our RPI is now higher, our record against RPI top 25, 50, 100, and no losses against non top 100 all makes us look better than Wisconsin, not to mention head to head. The only category they are better than us is SOS but the committee should see that we clearly have a better resume.

The seedings are an overall indicator of which the best teams are, but I know they take into account geographical information, as well tournament site locations that can have affects on seeding. Perhaps Lunardi is trying to take into account all of the considerations.

The other thing that "simpletons" might do is look at the conference standings and see that Wisconsin is 10-8 while we're 9-9. Wisky was a 4-seed in the BTT and we were an 8-seed. That likely is what some are taking into account. They think Wisky is better because of that.

However, what I hope the Selection Committee takes into account is that Wisconsin only played Michigan State and Ohio State once in the regular season. They played Iowa twice (losing one). We played Michigan State and Ohio State twice and Iowa only once (on the road). That explains the one-game difference in the standings and hopefully the committee will see that and rank us ahead of Bucky.

To me, it is an absolute no-brainer that we are ahead of them in the pecking order.

If Lunardi was taking all into consideration he wouldn't have the Gophers in Boise. We can't end up there as they are a Fri/Sun, just like Minneapolis. From all accounts, unless we are an 8/9 seed, we are headed to either KC or Portland. With our luck my guess is Portland.

GoldenGo4Fan,

The Gophers can play the same day as the games in Minneapolis. That isn't a factor. They have, for example, had Arizona playing the same day that first and second round games were being held in Tucson.

Lunardi now has wisconsin, minnesota, maryland, and creighton as the last four in after the miss. st. win.

Who has Wisky beaten outside of conference? Yes, they scheduled tough but beat no one. The one legit NC team we scheduled, we beat.

THIS IS NOT A FLAME!!!!!!

A disinterested third party might not give much weight to your win over the Cardinals.
And, frankly, after watching them last night, I think they are greatly improved improved over how they played 3 months ago.

I REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A FLAME!!!!!

You are correct. I had heard others over the past few days say otherwise, but I just looked at the seeding "Principles and Procedures" and we can play on the same day. I still think since we are not sold out in Mpls they will do their best to not have us playing the same days.
