is .609 (39-25). Not making any comment about our team one way or the other - just saying you'd be hardpressed to find another team in the nation with a number this high, just how it worked out this year.
 

and its still .607 (34-22) when you take out games we were involved in which may be a better measure.
 

Yes, the schedule was tough. But 31-28 and 35-32 stick out to me. Those were season defining losses. Losing to Wisconsin when you probably should have won, and then losing to Illinois. Suddenly that's an 8-4 season, 5-3 in the Big Ten. Just two blown games that they could spend the offseason thinking what could have been.

The year that Mason got fired = .684 (before the Bowls)

I'm getting .594 (38-26). I was just looking at conference record. Point taken though, I'm of the opinion that Mason wasn't fired for the performance of his the team that year exclusively - that we'll never know though.
