We are down Mo and Trey.

Bucky needs a little more meat on the bone. He may still surprise as the season goes.

Here is a chance for Cam Wiley and Bryce Williams to make their case.

Will Ky Thomas and Preston Jelen surprise?

Maybe it will be run by a committee.

The RB Room is quickly becoming a MASH Unit.

Nebraska in the meantime is looking better and better,

Said this after Mo went down and will say it again after Trey.

The next two running backs up are averaging 4.5 and 9.4 cards per carry. In turn, they are backed up by two veterans who would also be solid B1G RBs behind this offensive line.

Minnesota will not have a problem in the running game this year as long at the offensive line stays healthy.

If you follow this team closely you would know that Jelen is out for the season.

I believe it's now "Bucko" because it was awkward to have this guy playing for us...

Agree though, next man up...

On tape I think Bucko might have the most ball-in-hands talent of any back on the team.

It's clear the coaches don't really trust him in pass protection yet. Bryce Williams will play if there are any problems keeping Morgan upright.

Bucko and KY are both good and I believe have proven themselves so far this season.

I have no reason to believe than they can't both succeed but given that Irving has had only one good game and Thomas has had only one game period, I'd say that "proven" is a pretty strong word at this point.

I'm also inclined to believe that the running game can remain productive despite injuries to the top two backs. If the passing game can be increased and improved, that should also help the running game.

Mo's untimely season-ending injury 🤕 has quickly changed the dynamics of the Offense.

Now, the entire Offense has to learn to adapt quickly. I hope they've got something cooking before they face the Huskers.

I hope so. I suppose that one could make all sorts of arguments why workload isn't a causal factor of injuries but given that we have lost our top two backs, I think we should try something different. Just a random look-up of some of the top Big Ten running backs in recent years gives the following:

Ezekiel Elliot: 20 carries a game over his last two years
Saquon Barkley: 18 carries a game over his last two years
Miles Sanders: 17 carries a game over his last year as a starter

Even a workhorse like Jonathan Taylor who easily led the league in rushing attempts all three years he played at Wisconsin averaged 22.6 attempts per game over those years, significantly below Mo's average carries per game in 2020.

The only real saving grace in terms of timing on the Potts situation is that it happened going into a bye week. So the coaches will have extra time to work with the remaining backs on some of their weaknesses and get them ready to take on a bigger load (assuming of course that Potts is in fact out for an extended period of time).

Really becoming less and less of a fan of depending on a single star RB, when they are such a fragile position. See the same thing with the Vikings and Dalvin Cook.

Will we need Jason Williamson and Nolan Edmonds to medically Un-Retire?

Those legs disturb me.
That back one sure does...

Pretty sure this was drawn by a Wisky School of Arts grad. Needs to go back and take his anatomical orientation perspective class again. Complete fail

I'm hoping "coach" Mo is giving some serious tutorials to our RBs this off week.

When Cole Kramer lines up in the backfield with Morgan I”ll be worried about the running back situation.
