Will we win out in regular season?

All I know is that it will be a tremendous disappointment is the Wisconsin game is not for more than the axe.

Don't worry guys, the B10 doesn't have a stake in Illinois or Wisconsin (this year), so we'll get normal refereeing and we should be able to beat them both.

Have a shot against Illinois....Wisconsin is too physical and will wear down the depleted D like tonight.

Looking forward to witnessing THAT!

I would be thrilled to see the Gophs win the final 2 games, but I suspect the injuries on the O-Line, D-Line and D-backs are really taking a toll. If the Gophers were at (or close to) full strength, I would have a different opinion. But, with the current state of the roster, I'm afraid they're just a little short-handed to pull off the win over WI.

I hope I'm wrong.

This is all that I'd ask for going forward. I think they'll go 0-2 in the last two and I'm satisfied with that if the players decide the result, not the refs

Of our 5 Big Ten losses, 4 have come against teams we beat last season. Ironically, our last two games at home are against teams we did not beat last season. Can we win both? Well, stranger things have happened. Wisconsin may have nothing to play for in the last game. Two seasons ago, Wisconsin had nothing to play for in its last game and lost to a probation depleted Penn State squad at home.

After witnessing the effort last night, I am more convinced the Gophers will find a way to beat Illinois and bring home the Axe.

Could you please explain to me why the B1G is motivated to have the refs officiate counter to Minnesota's interests?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure he is referring to our last few games being against teams that are battling for a playoff spot (Ohio St and Iowa). Not that the refs are against MN, just that they may favor teams that are close to making the playoffs.

I don't know if I believe in some kind of conspiracy, but there is no doubt the calls have gone against us more often than not the past few weeks. It's probably more of a product of the officials just being very bad.

Just want to see a victory against Illinois at this point, then worry about Wisconsin. Way too banged up to think past the next game.

The calls did seem pretty lopsided last night (there wasn't much difference in the previous two games) but the infractions against the Gophers all seemed evident on the replays. I can believe that the refs weren't giving Iowa the same scrutiny but if you look ever Iowa's stats over the last five years or so you'll notice that Iowa is a comparatively lightly penalized team. People have often griped about the imbalance of calls against Wisconsin in basketball but Bo's teams usually are among the least penalized teams in the country.

I am not giving up on these guys.

They are like a "Band of Brothers". A tough and resilient bunch.

Maybe a typical Becky team does, but not this year. Line is not that impressive and they've played a pretty weak schedule. There 0-2 against the only good teams they've faced

Yep, only Michigan St, Purdue, and Minnesota have a worse yards per rush average than Wisconsin. This isn't the same OL you usually see from them.

Beat Illinois this week, then find a way to leave it all out there the final week against Wisconsin. I think they can do it win the last two, these guy's have played to damn hard not to keep going and get a reward at the end of the season. Beat the Illini

Prepare for 4 - 8, then anything else is else is a surprise.

Prepare to be surprised. We will beat Illinois in a fairly boring game and then all the frustration with our failures/injuries this year will be taken out on the Badgers. We will get a couple guys back for whatever bowl we get and will torch them as well to finish up 7 and 6.

Would nothing more but to beat Wisconsin and then go to a bowl game. Can't over look Illinois who is also fighting for a bowl berth as they have to play Northwestern two weeks from now.
