I tried to find when the last time the Gophers scored a TD on their first possession of the game and couldn't find it. I am pretty sure it has not happened in the Jerry Kill era. I'm pulling for this week.

No. I hate to say it, but as you pointed out it has been a long time. I cannot remember off the top of my head when it occurred last.

The last score at all was a FG in the bowl game.

Took some searching, but I believe @ Northwestern in 2011, we did indeed score a TD on our opening drive. Of course, that was after Northwestern had already scored. The last time, that we scored a TD on our opening possession as the first score was against NDSU, and we know how that turned out.

It is ridiculous how slowly we start games offensively.

I'm just hoping for a first quarter touchdown. The gophers have been shut out at half the last two times against nebraska.

145-0. That has been the combined score of our last five games in the first half against Nebraska.

The Gophers scored a TD on their first drive against IU (11/2/2013). Please share with me if you can find the last time this happened.

I already answered that:
