Just wondering what the latest is with this guy. Also, is his scholarship still valid with Tubby?
Or was it yanked forever and ever?

Really sad situation. What a waste of talent. Sure could have used him this season.

Thanks in advance for your comments fellow G-Holers.

Royce White

Oops, forgot to ask about Al Nolen and Trevor M. as well. Hope all 3 come back, but it only looks like Trevor and Al. Prove me wrong fellas. Please!!

Perhaps the best lesson for all three (for varying reasons) was learned when we made the tournament. The world moves on without those who choose not to follow the rules or take care of their responsiblities. The fact that the team showed they could accomplish something without these guys should make them realize what they can be a part of if they really want to take care of business the right way. I feel for each of them, as I am sure it hurts to be left home while your team goes to the NCAAs. This is a chance to learn and go forward and do great things next year. I'd love to have them all back and go to the final four.

If they are able and willing to get their act together, I'd welcome them back. If not, we'll look elsewhere.

Beej...You, my friend, are right on the money. I would welcome them all back, as long as they have learned that the world does not revolve around them. The world will still revolve without them. If, and I hope this, Tubby decides, "boys, I'd like you all back, but here is what and where and how and why it will be "this way"" MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY! Go Gophers!!!

One of the biggest things they need to learn is that if they don't get their act together, they aren't doing themselves any favors. Right now, they have an asset, the ability to play college BB. That can do some good things for their lives, but only if they play it right.

Well said bee-j!

Maybe its just me, but I wouldn't lump Trevor in this category. For all we know, he was not the person that they accuse him to be. Hardly a "world revolves around me, I hope he learns his lesson" type guy. If he actually did it, disregard this post; until then I say we leave him out of it.

Agreed. He hasn't been found guilty of anything (stealing or failing classes) so he is technically innocent as of now.

BGA...

Best comment on this topic EVER!!!

I agree totally.

+1

Any word on whether or not Maturi is going to reinstate Mbakwe for the tournament?

Trevor M. situation

Has he even been practicing with the team to in decent shape?

What ever happened with his court deal in Florida?

Nobody seems to know. Including me.:confused:

Good point.

Trevor's situation differs from RW and AN and the truth of the matter is still to be resolved.

Otherwise, what BGA said.

Any word on when Royce's new album hits stores?

Word on street is it's got a surprise ending.

When you compare White to Henderson it is really easy to see why it would be nice to have him actually play for the Gophers.

I enjoyed that one.

I think the better question than the OP (no disrespect) is how will Tubby handle this in April? Is he going to sign anyone? I mean, if one, two or 3 extra schollys will be free, it would be nice to fill them. Can you even sign a guy after the April signing period? Even if you can, is there anyone (potentially helpful) left?

It would be handy to know by then who is or isn't going to return. Impossible, but it would be handy. What does Tubby do?

Here's my take on everything as it relates to Royce, Trevor and Al.

Al will definitely be back in the mix next year. If he can't get his academics straightened out between now and the start of fall practice next season, then there is little hope for him. Therefore, it seems like a given, at least to me, that he'll be here next year.

I feel close to the same way about Trevor. Of course, his situation is different because without the legal issues, he would have been eating up minutes from the start this season. On top of that, he's been solid with his practice and in the classroom according to some folks. Therefore, if things work out for him legally, he also should be in the mix next year. But there's the rub: it's either going to be he's incarcerated or playing b-ball for the Gophers imo.

Royce is like the ultimate wild-card. Through all this mess, it's pretty obvious he still has a case of "Gophers on the brain." Therefore, I wouldn't completely rule him out either, although any more shenanigans from him would cause everyone to have a mental breakdown.

Now comes the interesting part. Apparently, the Gophers are looking to still sign Cory Joseph and possibly another JUCO player, which would effectively eat up Royce's scholly. If that happens, Royce doesn't strike me as the type that would walk-on.

So, taking everything into account, I'm thinking that we'll have Al and with a little luck, Trevor. Not counting on Royce at all, but hey, stranger things have happened.

If all three of those guys were to get back on the team and they signed CJ, I would assume they would probably go into the year as the favorites in the B10?

Can't tell is this is a serious question or not. As such, I'll simply say this: It would be a very good team. Would I count it as a Big Ten favorite? Probably not, but it would represent one heckuva a bunch of players to throw out there on a game-by-game basis.

Yeah, that's a very scary team you're talking about there. I'd be hard pressed to see how they could lose a game with that kinda talent.

1. Nobody goes undefeated now days.

2. It will always be difficult to win on the road.

3. The rest of the BT is not standing still. Many are bring in excellent recruiting classes too.

4. Will they miss the scoring of DJ and Westbrook?

5. If they get into the NCAA Tourney they will face the best in the country.

6. There has to be a dozen other reasons they will never go undefeated.

He belongs there too. He's has had almost a year to clear his name and he still hasn't. Plus, the flying home right after it happened smells bad. In my opinion, he's got baggage just like Royce and Al. I'd like to think he's innocent too, but I'm not naive to take him at his word unless he can convince a jury of his innocence or the prosecutor to drop the charges. Most anyone in his situation would say "not me" and come up with an alibi, but the woman said she was 100% sure and I what motive does she have to lie about the person who broke her jaw and may have attempted to rape her? The longer this draws out, the less hopeful I am. Hope I am overly negative about Trevor's position but its how I honestly feel.

Agree.

I don't believe he is just a completely innocent guy walking down the street falsely accused of assault and attempted rape. I don't buy it. I have taken the light rail numerous times and no one on the platform has ever said I broke their jaw and attempted to pull their pants down.

I can't tell if you are being facetious or whether you are serious with that comment.

You believe it is just mistaken identity? You've watched The Fugitive too many times

I suppose you think anyone that gets accused of something is always guilty. Maybe they should just forget about trials all together and throw anyone in prison who gets accused of something illegal.
