Will Muschamp has been dismissed at Florida

per ESPN:

Will Muschamp will not return as Florida's coach next season, a source told ESPN.

Muschamp will coach the team's final two games this season, and then step down.

Muschamp was 27-20 in four seasons, 17-15 in SEC play.

Saturday's 23-20 overtime loss to South Carolina was the Gators' sixth in their last eight home games.

Go Gophers!!

Our next DC if Claeys gets Kansas job :).

As they say, "It just shows to go ya." Muschamp was viewed as the heir to the Longhorn throne when he was Defensive Coordinator there before he took the Gators' job and everyone in the college football world saw nothing but success for him. Similar to Hoke when he moved up the line from Ball State to San Diego State to Michigan. There's something about being in the big chair (especially at a big program) that warps even the strongest credentials.

Muschamp won't be out of work long. He'll likely land a defensive coordinator job at a high profile school during the post-season coaching shuffle.

Next question will be whether Florida tries to lure Dan Mullen back to Gainesville. Mullen was the OC under Urban Meyer. Mullen has built Miss.St into a contender, but it seems like it would be easier to recruit players than to Starkville, MS.

You'd have to think that Mullen is on top of their list, along with Bob Stoopes.

Claeys is a smart guy and I don't think taking the Kansas job is smart unless they have got their own T. Boone ready to finance a big investment in football.
I think he would do better than the current guys, but I still think he would be gone in 6 years.
