Because thats about the cieling on this guy.

For all you clowns that point to his success on D2, D1-AA and the MAC please put that in context before you write as if success in the B10 would just be a given. This is a whole new beast. He will have to be able to break a 100th rank recruiting class to not be a bottom feeder, something he didn't do once at N. Ill. He won't just be able to recruit regionally like at all his other jobs, he will have to go to Florida, California, Texas, etc. and tell kids why they should come to MN. He has never been at a BCS school, therefore he has never really had to do this to have success.

Grinning Glen........ ah, those were the good ole' days

Just because we may not be unconditionally plunking down over a grand for the right to pay more for Gopher tickets than we can buy off of the street doesn't mean we don't want the team to win. We just have our limits.

Kill will be lucky to take us to Mason's level. He won't pass it. Jeez. We are now Indiana. And to think, we were sooooo close during the last coaching search. Any of the other finalists at that time would have been great.

I'm not thrilled about Kill at all, but what you say about him would also be true of Golden.

Why do you care? I thought you were getting rid of your tickets.

I will be, and I will be watching from home. I imagine I'll catch the first few, then move on to something else once I realize we'll never materialize into anything. But I'll be filled with optimism for a few weeks I guess???

I really doubt it. I think people still don't realize how much better Mase was than any other coach we've had in 40 years. Glen will still be grinnin' during halftimes for a long time to come.

Depends on which part. The beginning of the Mason years were quite decent, '03 we were a win away from being co-Big Ten champs. But once he quit on the program, it got ugly quick. We were still mediocre cause the talent was still in the program, but the piss pour recruiting after 2003 really hurt the program. I think Kill can do better than Mason's last years. I'm not totally sold on him winning a Big Ten championship here, until I see his recruiting work the first few years.
