Please come Corey... please. Pretty pleeeeeease! We need you more than any of the other teams currently in the running for your services... I can say this with complete CERTAINTY.

I honestly think Minnesota would be a great choice for Cory. I know we are having a bad season, but let's look at this from Cory's perspective. I would have to think Cory wants to go to the place that he would get the most possible playing time and be as much of a focal point of the offense as possible, so let's look at the possible teams:

Texas: The team I'm most worried about. Will have friends/former teammates there, but would have to fight for playing time if Avery Bradley returns. J'Covan Brown has been playing well and would form an already established backcourt with Bradley if he is to return. If Cory chooses to go there, he would then have to continue to fight for playing time is sophomore season with Myck Kabongo who is a 5-star point guard.

Villanova: Great coach and would fit in great with their 3-guard offense, but with Corey Fisher, Corey Stokes, and Maalik Wayns already there, he would have a lot of competition. Cory is a greay point guard and would earn plenty of playing time for any team, but he likely wouldn't be the focal point of the offense, at least not in his first year.

Connecticut: At the moment, Cory would likely receive a lot of playing time, but if Knight chooses to go there then he would be in for a lot of competition here as well. I know Calhoun returned last game, but is he still somewhat of a question mark as far as how long he will be coaching there? I would have to think if there is instability at the head coaching position it might scare him off, but who knows.

Minnesota: I think we can all agree that Cory would likely be the starting point guard here from day one. Devoe showed a lot of promise tonight and I think he has a bright future as a shooting guard. Cory coming here would allow Devoe to slide over to that position and I think they would play great together. Cory would not only get 25+ minutes per game, but he would likely be the focal point of the offense, which has to be attractive to him. With a high profile coach and the potential to have two brothers starting in the backcourt together, I'm guessing there would be plenty of headlines and I can't imagine him going under the rader, so getting exposure shouldn't be a concern

UNLV: Let's be serious.

With Mbakwe likely back and possibly even Royce, can anyone really argue that we wouldn't have enough talent to be a consistent top 25 team and probably even better with those players? Even if just one of those two guys return the overall talent on our team would be enough for it to be an attractive option to him. His mom also admitted that she is leaning towards him coming here and the fact that his parents wouldn't have to travel all over ther world to see their kids play would be convenient for them. If Bradley leaves for the draft that makes me a little less confident, but we would still have a chance. Overall, I think we are in great position to land Cory. Sorry for the long post. You can begin calling me delusional if you wish.

Wow! Man, you are all over this! Nice post-- I was too lazy to actually add anything meaningful in my original post. Great, well though out analysis...

Thanks. I was going to add more, but I realized how long it was and a lot of people probably won't even read it already because of it. Oh well.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of % are people giving CJ of committing here? I'm thinking it's tiny myself unfortunately...

I have been thinking this myself recently. IMO I think it is between the Gophs and Villanova. If Al isnt able to make it next year Cory will start right away with his bro. Nova scares me because of the guard oriented offense and how successful it has been in recent years.

Villanova would be a great fit for him, but it'll all depend on how much playing time he wants. With Maalik Wayns (former McDonald's All-American and averaging 8 points as Scottie Reynolds' backup) already doing well and having a year of experience under his belt (once Cory would get there) I would have to think Joseph would spend the season coming off the bench. Only Cory knows if that is appealing to him or not. It's hard to put a percentage on him coming here given the fact that there are so many variable that still have to play out. If Devoe keeps playing well so Cory doesn't have to worry about his brother being upset that he's taking his minutes, Bradley returns to Texas, and Knight goes to UConn I'd give us a 75% chance (but obviously I don't know for sure). What are the chances of all of those things happening first? I don't know. I'm just trying to think of this from Cory's perspective and I think it's logical that we would be a pretty attractive option for him. I think if Mbakwe gets cleared before he makes his decision that would help a little bit too because there would be another talented player on our roster to help the team. The biggest variable though IMO will be how well Devoe continues to play and how happy he is with his role. If Devoe is having a lot of fun and playing well then our chances will be great. If Devoe is playing poorly, not having fun, and uncertain about his future with the team that won't help our cause one bit. Here's to hoping Devoe builds off tonight and continues to play well (both for Devoe's sake, and for our chances to land Cory). If Devoe continues to play well and we don't land Cory, then at least it will look like we have a promising future with one Joseph.

Unfortunately I would have to guess that CJ thinks he will get more pt than he actually will at those schools. Just an assumption I have that recruits that highly ranked probably all assume they will log a ton of minutes as a freshman no matter what team they're on.

There's a strong possibility we have zero Josephs on our roster next year. With all the transfer talk, Devoe seems like a likely candidate...

There's probably a pretty high chance that no one ends up transferring. There are rumors of players transfering from almost every school every year. I know of one school last year that it seemed like a certainty that two players were going to transfer (they were already looking into which schools to go to and had no desire to return to their current school at the time) and another one really wanted to transfer too, but none of them ended up doing it. That's just one small example. Things change, people realize that they are rushing to decisions that aren't best for them and they end up returning.
