Why does Paul Carter have the ball in his hands at the end of the game? The only reason Carter should see the ball in that scenario is if he is wide open from a foot away for an assured dunk. And how do you not get a foul off with 4 seconds to go in the game? a jump ball? seriously? This team is going to be just fine but when Paul Carter had the ball and choked I could not believe he had the ball to begin with.

Poor play calling and poor execution. No reason that Tubby shouldn't have called a time out immediately after Carter got stuck with the ball at the top of the key looking to iso.

The players not knowing who would get the possession is all on the coaching. Almost Jr. High level execution by the players and staff today. Head scratching to say the least. If Brewester did that, people would be freaking out right now.

A Guard with ball handling skills or maybe someone who would have kicked it to an open man rather than panicked with the ball in his hands.

Who should have had the ball?

Carter didn't take the worst shot in the world, but he was not the guy you wanted to have the ball in that situation. Fast action takes a lot of thinking out of the equation, but he was the last guy I was hoping would touch the ball. Besides Nolan, no one scares me more with the ball.

Correction: Thinking about it more.. The way the other guys played, why not Carter taking the shot? At least he was willing.

exactly, I like Carter, he has his niche, but he was the last guy I wanted to see with the ball too. quick action was needed and if the shot was not there he needed to kick it out, Joseph was wide open at the 3 and DJ was wide open on the block

Yeah, I always wonder when coaches don't take a time-out on an important possession. I know having the other team off balance is good but it seems with our guys, a set play is not a bad way to go.

he double pumped into a crowd of A&M arms waiting to block him, he panicked by not passing it when he was triple teamed and instead threw the ball into the defenders hands. Also I did not say Nolan, how about Joseph?

You said a guard that can handle the ball. That eliminates everybody except Nolen.

Besides, Joseph has been shooting like crap this year.

i was ok with paul having the ball because he was one of the few players who were making good decisions with the ball, he just hesitated and it cost him the bucket. whether we won or loss didnt matter to me in the end because we arent a top 25 team without royce or trevor, we fought at the end and we are the same team with or without that win. We need as many of our players back as we can get so we can get back to applying the half and full court pressure we need to, and have the halfcourt offensive playmakers we need

I agree that we need the guys back, and I think you'd agree that the wheels of the justice system need to grind first before Tubby can make any decision.

I think this team is fun to watch, maddening sometimes, but fun.

Who they are as a team is still being forged, a good example of that was our last possession. If Carter makes the shot, we escape with a hard fought win. But I agree with you that when we have our full compliment of players(whoever that ends up being) we can begin to find an identity , especially on the offensive side of the ball. Moments like the end of this game will be easier with decided go-to guys.

And we shouldn't underestimate the importance of having Bostick back. Another talented scorer and another body for a more intense defensive effort.

I do agree and feel tubby will do whats right. Its just frustrating to spend all summer excited to see the new and improved team and realize all the coaching staff's hard work might be for nothing.
