This was the best gophers game I have seen in 4 years

History. For whatever reason, he was not a successful head coach earlier in his career. I theorize that it was an inability to recruit, because obviously he can XO. But whatever the reason, he hasn't shown the ability to sustain success as a head coach.

If we're gonna hire someone along the lines of Hoke or Sumlin we might as well give Horton 1 year. After beating a Ranked Rival in a Trophy Game he at least deserves that. I mean really to accomplish something our previous coach couldn't do in 3 & half years is noteworthy. Horton got a signature win in 5 games...

Are you fricking kidding me? No! No! No!

He did a fantastic job filling in for Basement Brew, but we need a fresh start. Another thread addressed this, but the last time we let the players (or the fans) pick the next coach, we got John Gutenkunst instead of Bobby Ross - Ross of course went on to win a National Championship at Georgia Tech.

Calm down about Horton.

Thank you.

Coach Horton deserves all of our thanks and kudos for salvaging the season and giving the Seniors a heck of a send off.

However the team also deserves a brand new start with fresh ideas and no baggage.

Thanks Horton for being a stellar caretaker during the transition. Hope you're still on staff with the new coach. That being said, how do we know that it wasn't actually Tim Cross' promotion that made the difference these past two games?

I like Horton, but none of us would even consider him as our next coach if he had the same resume on some other team.
