Why is our game the only non-televised first round game in PR?

Thanks ESPN!! and if we lose to WK we cant watch the losers bracket game either.

Because the ESPN family of stations (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU) only has so much programming space for all the tournaments they're airing this week. There's no way they can have every game on, even with three channels available.

how bout ESPN classic? They are showing old boxing and college football. BOX.

We finally upgraded our cable to get ESPNU to at least get a few of these games. ESPN3 isn't an option though as we have Qwest DSL. Oh well.

I have Qwest DSL and get ESPN3

also look for regional Fox sports channels that might pick up some of these games, I watched a number of early season tourny games on channels like Altitude and Versus

I played around with it quite a bit and couldn't figure it. How are you logging in or receiving it?

It isn't the Qwest DSL that matters, it is who is your actual ISP. Mine is VISI, and they don't offer ESPN3. Nor will they ever, as why would a small ISP make some dumb deal with ESPN.

So if you go to the ESPN3 page and you can't make it work, that is why.

If it's on ESPN3, then it can't be on any non-ESPN channel.

It's times like this that I love the new ESPN3 streaming through my XBox.

Hello....the ESPN3 page says Xbox Live customers can watch. That is something I do have. I'll test it out tonight and see if it works!

I'm assuming it does after reading Gopher07's comment above...

Luckily my wife's Law School email account from the U still works, even though she graduated 3 years ago. I just use a VPN to connect to the account and I'm good to go.

If someone is willing (I'm not) to give out their U of M email and password to the board then others could watch as well.

Didn't know about the XBOX access, thanks!

As long as you have an ESPN3 internet provider (Comcast is one) then you should get access to their live streaming through your XBox. I watched some content (albeit not live content) through there this weekend and it seemed to work just fine. Picture quality was OK, and best of all, it was on my TV and not my computer.

afaik, if you find someone with comcast, register a username while on that internet, then sign in with that username anytime and it will be like youre on comcast!

actually it might just be a setting you need to flip on any account while on comcast internet, thats how i get it when im home :)

How good does the stream look? I own a PS3 and hope this becomes an option soon. I have comcast so I'll be fine but I don't like watching games on my computer when I have a couch and plasma tv 20 feet away.

I haven't watched any live events, but I did watch a bit of a replay of Iowa-Northwestern and the quality was just fine. I expect it may get a little choppy for live events; may test it out tonight for the Siena game.

Also, from what I understand, I wouldn't hold your breath on the PS3 getting ESPN3 any time in the near future; as it stands now, you only get access as an XBox Live Gold member ($50/year) so I doubt PSN would be able to pull it off for free access.

Let me know. I found a software program called Play On(14day free trail) that will allow me to stream it to a PS3 or I could borrow a laptop. I've been very impressed by the Netflix stream for my TV and hope ESPN3 is close to that good. However, I'm sure with live events there are more problems.

I think you still are SOL. Your internet company still has to provide ESPN3 from what I'm reading on the internet.

I don't have Comcast, but I created a Comcast.net account. I used that at ESPN3 and it went through and eventually video played. I'm not sure if it was live, but I'm gonna try it later tonight when they should have other BBall games on. Even if you dont have comcast, try creating an account. A co-worker of mine did this with AT&T (even though he doesnt have ATT internet) and he said it worked.

I found a way to get ESPN3 for free (no credit card or anything required) even if you don't have the right ISP right now. Send me a PM and I'll give you the details.

Would have been nice if ESPN would have shown the game overnight. Nope, they are reshowing the Georgia State/Alabama game again at 2:00 AM. Nice.

I found a work around for anyone (like myself) that can't get ESPN3 from their ISP.

Go to the espn3 site and sign up for a user name and once you have that find a friend that can get espn3. Go over to their house and sign in using your user name and once you do that click on the remote button and follow the instructions. Now you can get espn3 from any place that has a internet connection.

If you don't know anybody that can get espn3 maybe you can have a friend on line or even a family member in another city or state that can get espn3 to log in using your name and set it up for you.

We're using our mother-in-law's comcast.net sign in and getting ESPN3 that way. We're having a problem with shockwave crashing internet explorer though, which I guess, is what the video is driven by, it seems to be a common problem. Only with the laptop thankfully, the PC seems to be working fine.
