The Gophers make a sweet comeback, at home, and the Illini respond with a quick 5-0 run, take control of the game and eventually win.

Gophers don't suck, they're just a bad team. Worst in the Big Ten. Period.

I will not even dignify myself with a response to that outlandish comment...a little aggressive wouldn't you say?

I agree that we are the worst team in the Big Ten right now. We lost to a bad team at home tonight. I don't know which Big Ten team that we are better than right now.

Look moron gopher...with exception of OSU and WI at home...any team in the big ten can win on any night...and I suspect we will a few more games this year...so take your sky is falling crap and go the f*ck back to beckyville and screw some dead dear!

This team is the worst in the coference right now. I fully expect a loss at Iowa this weekend.

I agree...and when was the last time we got beat by Iowa....this team does the same thing every damn year....they get a couple of nice signature wins at the beginning of the season to get everyone jacked up and excited and then by mid season they are back to their usual crap like the past 4 games....we most likely won't make the tournament this year and if by some wild chance we do....we will get blown out first round....sick of it !!

Blake can't get open, plus he was having an off night. Everyone else looked like headless chickens running around. We're a bubble team alright.

I'd be flattered to be a bubble team right now. Minnesota may win three games the rest of the season, counting the Big Ten Tournament.

Nobody wants to hear you whine on every thread. Look at the rest of our schedule. I know you'll tell me every game is a possible loss, but why don't you quit your bitching and just see what happens.

bubble team?

no way. they will get a good NIT seed.

I want to call you the quintessential delusional Gopher fan, but I won't.

Oops.

What exactly makes me delusional? Because I haven't stamped our ticket to the NIT? I'm sure you hadn't already determined we were NIT-bound last year when we were 5-7 in the BT...

Do you whine this much about everything?

Right now, this team looks like an NIT tram. That doesn't mean they can't grab 4 conference wins and get in. But does everyone really think the roster on the floor is NCAA material right now? They have no PG! Other than Blake, none of their guards or wings have stepped up since Al's injury. Chip and Hollins have their moments. Mav doesn't help. When your only shooter is playing out of position at PG, you have Rodney Williams continuing to struggle and three freshman playing more minutes than they should, it's a scenario that would kill most teams.

Good post. Totally agree. If Al is able to come back for the BTT, we have hope - otherwise not, I'm afraid. But I'd be happy to be wrong.

Why Illinois is better than Minnesota?

Simple. Though highly dysfunctional, the Illini have more talented AND more players than us. With the talent they have their record should be much better than it is. Outside of Ohio State, they have the best roster in the Big 10.

Illinois is devoid of one thing ....toughness! McCamey the point guard is the strongest guy both physically and mentally on the team. I agree top to bottom they are the second most talented team. They are much deeper than Ohio State also.

I get the impression that MaroonGopher has more than one moniker on this board . . .

"They are much deeper than Ohio State also."

You have a good argument there, though I do think OSU probably has some guys that are pretty good players that simply can't crack Matta's rotation. No doubt, Illinois is an enigma.

they are under achievers, yet we never catch the good team when they are cold. or we never send them on the tailspin. MSU loses a bunch and looks bad and then last night thumps Penn State and might have righted the ship and be ready to get it together before we get to play them. Iowa looks better, we have seen Indiana get embarrased and then beat us and Penn State is a tough matchup for us because they have what we don't- quick, athletic guards.
Michigan I guess we beat like we should have when they were down.
