We got the ball back with 2:30 to go or so and we basically sat on the ball. We had a few early plays of positive yardage (maybe even a first down) and then we just ran it up the middle, took basically all of the play clock and ran into the locker room with 20 seconds to go. I realize the chances of us scoring weren't great, but if we somehow did, it seems like being down 24-7 with a bit of momentum is a whole lot better than 24-0 and basically telling your offense you don't trust them. Worse case scenario is we throw a pick six. 31-0 isn't much different than 24-0 at that point.
The TCU fans that we were sitting by were laughing at us, saying it seemed like a defeatist decision.
