Why did so few Maryland football players talk to an investigator about Jordan McNair?

the consultant, Dr. Rod Walters, said he allowed assistant athletic director Jason Baisden to handle the sign-up. Players were told to sign their names to a sheet that was hung in the Gossett Football Team House. And they were later escorted by Baisden to meet with the investigator.

I doubt you're likely to talk to investigators when anyone who wants to talk has to sign up publicly and get escorted by the associate AD / equipment manager ;)

Unless they settle the medical details/coaching climate will come out in some way, shape, form via the various legal process/lawsuits. These schools are a fat piggy bank. It’s still a pretty odd episode IMO.

The report on the coaching climate should be out soon I’d think? One always has to wonder if the goal of the commission is impartial, or whether they are looking to assign blame, or circle the wagons. My guess is they want enough evidence to fire Durkin for cause and withstand a wrongful termination suit. The delay in the report suggests maybe they’re having a hard time coming up with enough credible witnesses.
