It is not "A" - they are like your sibling you don't really like all that much. You liked beating them up when you were a kid, and in adulthood, verbally dressing them down when they (frequently) need it, but you really don't want to see them get seriously injured or hurt.
Nor is it "C" - they are like that guy you played ball with in high school when you won the conference/region championship. You went on from there, got an education, have varied interests and are comfortable in myriad social and professional situations. However, when you go "back home", all they do, and each and every time you see them, is bring up the "good old days" and relive every play from that, or those, magical season(s) from 20 or 30 years ago. In other words, that's ALL "they got". See: Springsteen's "Glory Days".
Nor is it "D" - they are like that "one-trick pony" cousin who, quite inappropriately, always tries to "one-up" you every time at the family reunion some one (and not YOU) brings up your accomplishments or politely gives you deserved accolades or compliments. No matter what is said, they - in an desperate effort to be relevant - invariably bring up their new pickup, or some episode of living vicariously through the plebeian "exploits" of some cousin, or sister's ex-boyfriend's nephew. See: Seinfeld's "Uncle Leo".
Which brings to the winner . . .
Yes, it is "B" - Herkyfan (and it ain't even close)
So many reasons why, but put simply . . . they are that asshole neighbor that: commits transgressions of both neighborly etiquette and legal statute, while slovenly encroaching on your property, and driving down the value of the entire block/subdivision/township/county - all the while in a fog of utter self-unawareness. Meanwhile, they verbally complain and threaten you over the most trivial of matters. See: Samuel L. Jackson's character in "Lakeview Terrace". I could go on and on and cite (and once again on this forum) the multiple negative incidents and encounters I've had with Herkyfan, but I've already devoted enough time to them.
