Looking for analysis on who the original killer shot was?

Chaney was prior to the comment.

Or Heupel, but the Bradford decision to stay changed his mind? I'm confused with that because Heupel didn't meet the NFL experience factor.

Applewhite was the buzz for all of a day or so, so unless a soft verbal was made that seems unlikely.

Others who were interviewed either didn't qualify and were just for due diligence.

Was Fisch or maybe Bates the "back-pocket-familiar-with-Brewster-endorsed-by-Shanny" kill shot that Brew was relying on? Then the Lions interview threw a wrench in for Fisch?

I'm confused and can't take the drama much longer, but looking for some answers.
 

My money is that Brewster was confident enough that he had Heupel locked up to let that comment fly. I remember reading on this site that someone said Heupel had taken the job, but backed out of it for some reason. In my mind he's the most logical candidate to connect this quote too.
