Who should get the majority of carries at RB for Gophers?
Hopefully more.Rodney already got 16 carries to Roderick's 9. After what we saw last night, he'll probably get somewhere around 2:1 for the rest of the year.
The staff is completely botching the Jeff Jones deal and he'll transfer by the end of the season, just watch. When you go out and get he #5 RB in the entire country just keep him there and develop him, damn does he looked pissed sitting on the sidelines as a WR. I'd be out.

You have absolutely no ****ing idea how the staff is "handling" Jeff Jones.

Do you really think Jeff Jones wouldn't be out there if he was better than Rodney Smith right now?

I thought Jones was injured? If Rodderick falls across the line of scrimmage a few more times and fumbles, I would imagine Jones would get a crack at RB. This coaching staff doesn't just make bad personnel decisions. They have a reason for what they have done. But now it is game action, and those who perform on the big stage get the time.
I know body language and I know Jeff's was NOT good last night. It's easy to pick up from the stands and having seen guys in the past who've moved on I've become good at picking things out on the sidelines.
So I'm curious, what do you "know" about it?

Is Jeff currently being developed as a RB to try and get as good as Rodney? He was much better coming out of HS, then had to take year off. I assume if he was to be developed as a RB he would be really good again.
Jeff will not sit on the sidelines while the staff experiments with him at other position, mark my word.
I "know" nothing about how the staff is working with each individual player. I also don't "know" what JJ will do.
What I do "know" is this: "Versatile wide receiver Jeff Jones's much anticipated debut for the Gophers could be delayed once again.
The Minneapolis high-school star has been sidelined with a concussion, reports Marcus R. Fuller of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Minnesota coach Jerry Kill made the announcement after a team practice Thursday, though he didn't disclose how long the former running back is expected to be out of the lineup."
Why was Jones "much better coming out of HS?" Because he had more stars and offers? Personally, I think Smith was more impressive on film, especially given his competition.
That's great, and it's an old article. Jones is cleared from the concussion and was on the field for 1 play last night. But that's not my point. My point is why take a kid ranked the #5 RB in the country and start fuc&ing around with him at other positions? If he's a fringe starter at WR and a fringe starter at RB at this point, I guess I don't get the need to experiment with him at WR when scouts were saying he was the best RB all week at the Under-Armour AA game. What is he accomplishing at WR?
Jones is not as good as Smith. Hope he figures it out so he doesn't continue making poor choices.
I know he's not. Guessing that's a combination of taking a year off and Smith being really good. My point: he was an elite RB coming out of HS, what is the point of experimenting with him at WR just because when he came back from a year lay-off Williams and Smith were ahead of him of depth chart. Just keep him at RB and let him shake the rust off and develop him.
