I love Minnesota!

I went out for a 10-mile run this morning and, from my front door in Minneapolis, I ran past two beautiful lakes (Nokomis and Hiawatha), Minnehaha Creek, Minnehaha Falls (the 2nd highest urban waterfall in America after Niagara), across the Mississippi River and past another waterfall (Hidden Falls). Where else in America?

This is just one example.

I absolutely LOVE Minnesota and I regularly thank God for letting me live here.

I am not trying to convince anyone else. I'm just publicly proclaiming my love.

I can't say whether I'd love living in Iowa, but I seriously doubt it. If the people that live there love it - great for them; I hope they do.

People might say that my love for Minnesota is because everyone loves what they know. I have lived in Minnesota for a grand total of 16 years. But I lived in Colorado for 11 years, in Kentucky for 7 years, in Indiana for 5 years and in Missouri (or as I like to call it Misery) for 6 long months. So I do have some basis of comparison. None of these comes close.

I've seen Iowans post on this board that much of southern Minnesota is just like Iowa. They miss the point. That is part of why Minnesota is so great - the diversity of the landscape. We have boreal coniferous forests, we have mixed hardwood forests, we have cropland, we have natural prairie, we have lake country, we have large and cosmopolitan urban areas, we have small towns....

We also have an incredible diversity of people... racially, ethnically, spiritually, etc.

We also have an incredible wealth of cultural resources and entertainment options.

I LOVE MINNESOTA!

I love Minnesota for surprisingly all of those same reasons (well not the previously living in Colorado and Missouri bit). I took a six mile bike ride past all of those exact same things today too. Minneapolis lives in its parks and we have lakes, rivers, streams and trees like no other urban area in the country. Clearly there are some gopher fans in the Nokomis neighborhood of South Minneapolis!

Back to the point, I do love my state.

Minnesota is a great place to live - we are very blessed to live here.
I lived a year in Greensboro, NC and will never be back but I lived a year
in Tucson and that was also a good place to live - especially in the winter!

I think our quality of life here is a lot better than most people in the country
enjoy - our winters might be a little tough sometimes, but there are so many
positives and advantages over other places that you kind of take it for
granted sometimes.

I went for an 11 mile run this morning...

I thought of going for a 12 mile run this morning.

And I do love Minnesota too.

I LOVE MINNESOTA! I hope i go here for college. Lived here my whole life, and have good enough grades. I just gotta stop my parents from convincing me to go elsewhere. They want whats best, but I want GOLDY!

Dude, you must live right in my neighborhood. I live about 5 blocks from Minnehaha Falls

I absolutely love living here. I live in greater Minny, and it's nice to be able to drive 10 minutes in any direction and be in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees (and mine pits). The only thing that would make it better for me would be a small mountain range not colored orange or red, and that's why I would like to give Vermont or Oregon a shot for a few years.

I Love Minnesota

I lived in Minnesota for 18 years and now live in Northern Virginia where I have lived since 1965. I've lived in California, Arizona and Tennessee. I've travelled extensively throughout the United States and the world. There is no place I love more than Minneapolis-St Paul.

So true!

I have lived more of my (long) life away from Minnesota than in MN for many career reasons. You may take the boy out of Minnesota. However, There is one saying that is soooo true. "you can't take Minnesota out of the Boy" never!!

I live about 10. It'd be interesting to see how many GH'ers live around here.

I don't live that close, I'm up by Powderhorn Park. Still close enough to go to the falls at a drop of a hat. One thing that's really cool that not many people know about is the Tangletown water tower.

Minnesota is not all that it is cracked up to be. Let me list the reasons:

1. Horsebleep Weather

2. Declining Educational System

3. Crappy Weather

4. Declining Healthcare System

5. Weather Sucks

6. "No New Taxes" Governors

7. Weather: Two Month Springs - Two Month Falls - Eight Month Winters (with not very much snow)

8. Declining State Funding for the U

9. Mosquitos

10. Michele Bachmann

I LOVE the Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota is a great place and even better with the Vikings. We need to support the new stadium.
