The fact that he took an ambulance to the hospital for 2 stitches is a joke. And we wonder why medical insurance is so high, he took a $900 ambulance ride to the hospital for 2 stitches. If he could walk his ass to the police station in the morning he sure as hell could have drove himself to the hospital (or was he to inebriated to do so) Theodore Randall assaulted our medical insurance premiums. Hey Ted, You talked trash and got punched for it, lick your wounds and go home. This is going to turn out to be a no story and it is a shame the newspapers an TV ran with it to begin with.
Way to form an opinion about an incident you know nothing about. Go Gophers...facts be damned.

There seems to be no follow up by WCCO. I realize its the TV station, but it is owned by CBS as is the radio station. The radio station still touts themselves as the Home of The Gophers. Seems like a conundrum. On one hand maligning Sam with half truths, and not following up with what happened is shoddy journalism. On the other having the rights to Basketball, Football, and Hockey.
And how Joel Maturi, The University, Leafield cannot see this is something that should be addressed is beyoned me.
The Univeristy does not need WCCO. There are too many broadcast outlets in the Twin Cities to originate the broadcast. The rest is afflitates.
If WCCO wants to play hardball with student athletes, fight back. Suspend, cancel, or simply end the broadcast arrangement with WCCO.

Who is Theodore Randall?
I'll tell you:
He's either:
1) A guy that got the crap beat out of him by someone unknown to all of us, and told the cops he thought it was Sam Maresh (who admits he was there). What are the cops supposed to do, not investigate Maresh?
or
2) He's a guy who got beat up BY SAM MARESH and told the cops who then rightly investigated, and the press found out.
He NOT:
1) A guy that knows he got beat up by someone other than Sam Maresh, and then just decided for the heck of it to implicate Maresh to the police. Thinks about it, that makes NO SENSE. You think he WANTS to get his name in the paper for getting his butt kicked? Highly doubtful.
The guy's either RIGHT, or he's MISTAKEN. Either way, the situation deserves investigation.
The speed with which folks here are so quick to blame this guy for something is really sick. The fact that someone starts a thread calling him out is repulsive. Remember, not one of us disputes he did get beaten, and NO ONE, not even Maresh, says this guy physically behaved in a way to justify the beating. Like it or not, you don't get to beat up people that piss you off. Tough guy stories of years gone by aside, that's the law. End of story. If you wanna stay out of jail, don't mess people up. If you're a Gopher football player, REALLY don't mess people up, because not only will you end up in jail, you'll end up in the news.
