Who else did we consider?

Too lazy to try to dig this up. Who else did we consider for the HC job that went to Brew? Not trying to make any point with this.. just curious. I read in a thread today that Lane Kiffin was on that list?

Like my boss used to say, hindsight is 50/50 (we would just chuckle).
 

Yep, Lane Kiffin was on there. Speculation around Charlie Strong as well. Gary Patterson's name was floating around but I think it was more a pipe dream than anything else.
 

I would have liked Strong. Good credentials from a big programs.
 

Yeah, i would chuckle because the program would still be playing a soft non-conference schedule and Kiffin would have already jumped for another position, our star recruits would have left, and the program would be in worse shape than it is today after a loss to USD.
 



There's a guy down at Schmitty's barbershop that lives next to Cretin-Durham Hall and has been to every one of their games for the past 30 years. Apparently he got interviewed, but Brewster aced him out because he settled for less money.
 

These guys interviewed:
Charlie Strong, Bo Pelini, Lane Kiffin. Pelini would have been awesome.
 

Would Kiffin have jumped ship already? He wouldn't have gone 7-5 his first season and would be still building. The USC offer wouldn't be there for the guy... at least not yet.

BTW... I think we need to bury Brew but I absolutely HATE Lane Kiffin.
 

I wanted Ron English, who is currently stuggling mightily at Eastern Michigan, which clearly proves that I have no idea what I'm talking about. Hey, I could be the A.D. at the University of Minnesota.
