I'm all for some amusing Gopher pessimism at times but this just seems kinda unnecessary hating in this case and really isn't about football.

Let's look at this logically.

The Gopher FB team has a good chance (I think) to go 7-2 in the conference. That assumes they beat 1 of IA, WI, NEB, and run the table on the rest of the B1G schedule. If they catch lightning in a bottle, and somehow beat 2 of the 3 listed, they could potentially go 8-1 in the conference.

As far as Gopher Hoops, there are still a lot of question marks. Pitino has to integrate 3 freshmen and three transfers into the lineup along with the returning players from last year. On paper, they should be a lot better, but I, for one, am not sold yet on Pitino's ability as a coach. If they get off to a slow start in the conference, I could see the hoops team going 7-11 in the conference, giving the FB team more conference victories.

If this was an episode of Mythbusters, I think they would rule it as "Plausible."
