Where's the Weis to Minnesota thread?

Not even light nor threads can escape his pull.
 

Weis would be a terrible call. What has he donewith his recuits. Won the Aloha Bowl wow, he hasn't been that much better than Brewster in terms of record with his recuits.
 

I got a lot of enjoyment out of that thread. Seriously though, Weis would cost a ton of money and I don't think they make Gopher's hoodies in his size.

On the other hand.

Never seen UConn play football until today, but I like what NBC is telling me about this guy.

Edit: Even if his kicker did just miss that FG

Edsall is a good guy. He and his staff have developed some poor recruiting classes pretty well. I have worked with his assistants, and they are all good at what they do.
 


Based on the above recommendation and the game I just watched I'd be cool with Edsall.
 

Agreed. If he can't win with the top recruits he gets. Good luck with our recruits.
 

How I see it:

Weis' last day at Notre Dame is his last day as a head coach. Regardless of the scenario.
 




I would throw up if we hired Weiss.

There are a lot of good coaches out there: Edsell, the guy at Temple, Central Michigan, etc. etc.

We're a year away from this, but what I want is class, intelligence, personality, work ethic on all fronts (coaching, recruiting, PR), and well-respected amongst peers. To have all of these qualities doesn't mean the person has to be a D1 head coach currently.

Fitzgerald at Northwestern seems all of these and never complains! Not about the admittance requirements or the awful support the team receives from both alumni, the current student body, or the administration. He knows its up to them to win and in so doing, good things will come.

That's the type of guy I'd like for the Gophers to get.
