I know there was a thread about who is attending but I don't recall hearing about a specific bar to meet at. I would love to meet up with some fellow Gophs fans.

Is there any gathering at the team hotel like a social on Wednesday night.

I land in Nashville around 12:30 gameday so can't make it to a Wednesday gathering. If nobody responds with a meet up spot I will try to do some research.

Gopher Fans we will be tailgating in the vistors tailgate parking lot, off Greenland drive on campus.:drink:

FYI: Here's a map with the lot location. It's probably the ugliest part of campus, but if you like cows, you'll be in good company (right next to the livestock center). Only a short stroll over to the stadium.

I recommend you fill up a big gulp cup with a few beers and stroll across campus to the other tailgating areas. Even with classes, students will be out drinking (one of the positives of a weekday game). Since this is a Thursday game, parking might be slim. I assume that visitor's lot will have some space cordoned off, though.

Geez, that's visitors parking? Yeah, it will smell like cows, being that it's right there by the livestock center.

I could see my elm. school (Reeves-Rogers) and my old apts (Jefferson Green) on the map...haha

Sounds like there is a VA hospital/nursing home in town that sees a lot of action. (High stakes poker, loan sharks, employees who can set up meetings with local star football players, etc) Maybe we should all meet there and do a little sleuthing. :D

where ever ya'll are goin count me in. It would be great to meet up with some fellow Gopher fans. We will be stayin at the doubletree their in town. Anybody know where the team is staying?

A good place for "gameday" food is Toot's in Murfreesboro. They have wings, burgers, salads, beer, fried dill pickles (you get those free if it's your first time there) and the kiddos get to eat free. They get a hotdog, ice cream, and fries (<-- i think those are included too) for free. You just have to buy the drink. It's good food and they have GREAT service. Just a thought, and might be a good place to meet up. Murfreesboro is the restaurant capitol of Tennessee so you will ALWAYS be able to find good food while you visit!

Thanks Dance, I have a 7 year old with me so that sounds like a good spot

Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro is an interesting stop if you enjoy Civil War history. I was there several years ago and would highly recommend it.

There is a place near campus called The Slick Pig. They have amazing wings, probably the best I've ever eaten. Superfan and I will be stopping there, whether he likes it or not.

Downside: I don't remember seeing any alcohol on their menu.

If you stay at Doubletree, Stones River Mall will be right behind you. So you can walk over and check it out if ya want. Red Lobster is also right across the street, I believe. Ryan's is also near by. It's a buffet with just about anything you can imagine.

I might try to get a Friday morning tee-time at the Old Fart--I mean Old Fort Golf Course....

sorry I had to do that..

Old Fort Golf Course is OK, but don't expect anything grand from it. Just warning you. Also, if you're staying at the DoubleTree, there is a TGI Fridays and Olive Garden at Stones River Mall. There's also an Outback Steakhouse nearby. If you're going to Toot's and get there at a decent time, you should be fine. If you have to wait, it's usually never long. I don't recommend going to Toot's after the game. You will have to wait FOREVER then. And the Slick Pig doesn't have alcohol, unfortunately. I also recommend Old Chicago which is on Old Fort Parkway across from the mall. They have AMAZING pizza and over 100 beers to choose from. BTW, if your wives/girlfriends are coming and want to shop, we have 2 malls. The Stones River Mall, which is indoor and they have good stores (Forever 21, Agasi, Dillard's). It's just a little small. And we have The Avenue on Medical Center Parkway. This is an outdoor mall and it has everything (Victoria's Secret, Harry and David, Express, New York and Company, etc.) I also recommend the Battlefield, like another post said. It's pretty interesting!

Is this still where most of the Gopher fan will be meeting up. Im originally from MN and now live in Nashville and would love to meet up with some maroon and gold before the game.

Minnesota fans will be meeting at the restaurant where our Coaches' Shows are aired. It is called Coaches Grill.

Here is the website:

It is maybe 3 miles from campus, and there are supposedly a bus or two full of Minnesota fans rolling in for pre-game.
