It will read:
Illinios 42 Vistors 16
Under cloudy sky, the game begins with Illinois scoring first. The Gophers under Weber go three and out. The punt is blocked and we trail 14-0. Yes, here we go again. No running game, Bennett and Eskridge are stuffed and the only way to gain any yardage is swinging the ball to Bennett. But again Adam gives us a three and out. The punt is away, and Illiniois starts on its 38. 6 plays later its 21-0. Stoudemier runs the kick off back all the way. He is able to cut back at midfield and score. The Gophers go for two, and Weber hits Gray. 21-8 and thats the half.
The get the second half kickoff, and Stoudemier get it to the 40 yard line. Gray at QB. 6 plays. A zone read, a pass to Lair, an option on the corner, a pass to Mcknight, a draw, and the TD to Eric Lair. Going for two, again Mcknight to the post. 21-16.
Illinois starts on their 25, Carter picks off a long pass at the Gopher 48. Returns it to the Illinois 40. Poised to take the lead, Horton re-inserts Weber. 3 and out. We are on the Illinois 32 yard line. Following a time out, Weber returns. The Gopher line up on 4th and 2. Delay of Game. They punt the ball out of the endzone. And Illiniois starts on its 20. 10 play drive and mo is now on the Illinois side line. Its 28-16. The kickoff is returned to the Gopher 35, Weber throws incomplete, he is sacked making it 3 and 18. A draw to Bennett is stuffed. The punt bounces out of bounds on the Illinois 40. 8 plays 35-16 at the end of the 3rd Quarter.
The fourth quarter is Minnesota throwing but making no progress. Illinois in a ball controll mode takes the air out on two drives of 50 yards. The second with less than 2 minutes makes it 42-16.
The box score will show Gray playing one series.
Coach Horton will again utter, We still think Adam give us the best chance to win."
Keep it up coach you can do it, this will be loss number 40 for Adam. He can go out with some kind of NCAA record with 41 against Iowa. More impressive only 6 Big 10 wins in 4 years. It takes dedication, stick to itiveness, loyalty, I realize he deserves the chance to go out with the record. He should be given every opportunty to finish the run.
