It will read:

Gophers 21 Vistors 35

It the same old song, no enough defense and an offense that cannot get out of it own way. The offense will continue to pound the rock with Eskridge and he will average 1.5 per carry. And all thought of being a power running team goes out the window before the end of the first quarter. It will be some sort of record as the Gophers will punt 3 times in one quarter. Penn State will return one for the initial 0 -7 posting. They will begin to shorten the field with several first downs. They pin us down inside our 10 and 5th Year Senior Adam Weber cannot make a play. We punt from the endzone and a return to our 35 allows Penn State to punch it in for 0- 14.

Coming out after the half its Penn State who is making the plays and the move 70 yards in 12 plays for the 0 - 21 lead. The crowd is restless, chants of we want Gray. And it is a pass to Gray for 80 yards that is the answer and the Gophers are on the Board. 7-21. Penn State stalls and punts to our 35 and the return is to the 45. The Gophers can do nothing with the field position and punt it again. Penn State works the ball back to the 40 before punting it back to us but we muff the punt and Penn State recovers on our 20 yard line. 10 plays and it is 7-28. The kickoff is returned by Allen for a quick strike TD. 14-28 going into the 4th Quarter. The Gophers attempt an onside kick to start the 4th Quarter. It backfires, Penn State takes over on our 40. 5 plays, and a 20 pass make it 14-35. The final quarter is a series of three and outs for both teams, before a Penn State pass is picked off by Carter, he returns for a TD with 4 minutes left. 21-35. The final 4 minutes are a lesson in ball control. Penn State grinds out 4 first downs and the game ends on our 40.

Coach Horton will answer reporter questions about Weber being the best chance to win, with we are sticking with Adam.

Gophers finally get it together, Weber has a good day, Gray adds a late TD and we win 31-16.

Gophers will beat PSU. Weber will have a fairly nice day. The Tight end will have a field day and two of the wide-outs will have ok days. Gray's foot will continue to trouble him and the addition of a jammed or dislocated finger will make it difficult, if not impossible for him to catch the ball well. He will have a couple of frustrating drops as a result of his ailments and aches and pains. He will act mostly as a decoy and that will work out quite well on this October Game Day Saturday. That foot thing has been difficult to deal with. The jammed finger is just a temporary thing.

PSU road fans start some chants of their own as their defense has a bad day and their patience wears thin. Two turnovers will cost them big time and will further frustrate their road warrior fans.

The Gophers will shine today as the pressure they have been feeling for the past six weeks is replaced by the relief of knowing how this administrative soap opera has resolved itself. They will relax and they will have fun, finally. So far, in the 2010 season, there have been many mistakes made on the playing field by the coaches and players AND behind the scenes by the administrators trying to decide when to make the hit. And, the Gophers will claim their first Big Ten win of the 2010 season.

Oh yes, the final score will read: Minnesota 31...PSU 17.

PSU 28
Minn 20

It wont be as close as the score indicates, though. We will score a garbage 10 pts late in the last ten minutes.

Minnesota 24
Penn State 17

Praise Allah.

PSU 21
U of M 7

Improved play on defense but offense sputters. PSU takes away Lair and Weber can't figure out where to go with the football.

Gophers 20-PSU 19

The rain will hamper both squads and will see a lot of FG's. The guys will be amped and win one for Brewster.

I think the boys could come out fired up, wanting to win one for Brewster, or come out flat after a week of upheaval. I'm going to go with "fired up".

Gophers 24
PSU 21

31-29 Minnesota. Penn State gets caught napping, underestimating the Gophers, and Minnesota plays like there is no tomorrow and takes a 28-10 lead into the locker room. Penn State roars back in the second half, scoring the potential tying TD as time expires. The go for 2, but it is intercepted by the Gophers. Rather than just taking a knee after the interception, the Gophers run it back to midfield, and nearly take it for two more unneeded points, but the Gopher player fumbles, and Penn State picks it up and runs with it, weaving their way down the field, being tackled inches from our end zone.

Finally...

We win a home game.

Gophers 23
PSU 19

It is going to be a sloppy weird game, but Penn State's offensive line proves to be as poor as the Minnesota defensive line and PSU cannot consistently move the ball. A comedy of errors all over the field, but in a reversal of fortune, Minnesota jumps out to a quick lead and hangs on in the second half.
