High above TCF Stadium

It will read Gophers 14 Trojans 38

The game will not be as close as the score. Unable to run initially, the Gophers abandon who they are and put the game in Webers hands. He throws 38 times completes 17, two picks, and no TD's.
But how do we score? Stoudmire is able to finally house a kick off. He busts the seam and heads for the sidelines, only this time he cuts back against the grain for 6. The second and final TD comes after an SC fumble. The team decides it Hoese or nothing, and he responds with an eighteen yard rumble.

Other than that it will be Barkley, Barkely, and more Barkley. The world will little note nor long remember how inept the offense is in this game. Three and outs and the defense back on the field.

I have plans to stop at the liquor store tonight and stock up.

Gophers 31, USC 30

In an absolute nailbiter, the Gophs rebound from last week and come out hot scoring 24 in the first half on the strength of Weber to Gray. USC storms back in the 2nd and has the entire stadium believing the Gophers cannot hold on, but we somehow manage too, thanks to mental mistakes by the Trojans.

It was tough to bring myself to this prediction after what I saw last week, but did so mainly because I predicted earlier in the season we'd be 3-1 coming out of the pre-B10 schedule, but our loss was to be against NIU (let down after beating USC).

I have grave concerns about this game, but I'll stick with uber-positivity again for another week!

I'm frustrated, exacerbated, worn out, worn down, and beat up.

That said, from the moment I saw this game scheduled I pictured it in my mind a certain way. I edited it a bit after last week, but it will end the same. Ok here we go.
I'll predict that somehow, someway, good conquers evil this weekend.
From USC POV:
USC rolls in on a blustery, cold afternoon. Strolls out to a subdued crowd of Maroon and Gold, pockets of empty seats, several very angry looking midwesterners wish them luck, telling them to beat the crap out of Brewster so he'll be fired. This is not a hostile environment, somewhat dull actually. OK on to the game, should be a cakewalk.

In rolls the Gophers, the student section is small, but very animated around the tunnel. The coach leads his team out, they look like rabble to USC.
Opening kickoff, this kids got some heart, takes it to the 40, fine.
Opening drive, the Gophers pound it, they have some big boys, coaches are mad. Time to man up on D, get the run game plugged. #5 in motion, coaches yell to watch the reverse!
Dang that kids' pretty fast, DANG, $#^&*!@*& PASS!. TD Gophers? Coaches are gonna be pissed. Ok, make the adjustments, we still got them.
From GOPHERS POV:
7-0, man we got them on that one, not again though. What? Fumble? YEAH BABY! Hey the crowd is into it, not like last week. Hoese got it!
Let's go Web, just like practice for once. OH! Eddie O just trucked his guy, Queis is open! TD baby! 14-0. LET'S GO!
From Gophers student POV:
Man I'm hung. Better see how the game is going, 330 dang, too many red vods. Buddies must have left to go. Suckers, USC's gonna be up by 30 at half. What? No way. 28-14 in the third.
I'm going down there.
From my POV:
35-31 USC up. Man, how did we let them back in this thing? Classic Gophers.
1:30 in the 4th Let's go Weber. YES! first down. Is it me or has the student section been filling up as the game goes on? Come on Gophs! YES! 1st and 10 at the 30, they will have a chance at the endzone at least. No more timeouts. Oh boy.
YEAH BABY! Weber to Stoudemire at the 5, tic toc boys. Spike it!
Geez, stadium is rockin, like against Air Force again.
Ok Brew, you got 3 chances, don't run anything stupid. NO! Fade incomplete!
Ok what now? NO! Slant broken up, wasn't even close.
It all comes down to this. Breathe.
From ESPN POV:
Weber takes the snap, he's rolling to the right, pressure by USC, He spins away, rolling, rolling.
HE'S GONNA RUN IT! USC IS GOING TO MEET HIM!!! ........ TD MINNESOTA!!! THE GOPHERS HAVE DONE IT! AND THE STUDENTS FLOOD THE FIELD! IT'S A GOLDEN WAVE OF HUMANITY!
THERE ARE PEOPLE EVERYWHERE! WHAT A GREAT FINISH TO A GREAT GAME!

I read this post and immediately after it made me want to watch two video clips

62-3 USC

But a defiant Brewster after the game praises his team's tremendous effort and talks about how playing top teams will pay off in in 5 or 6 years and that will allow Brewster to recruit 3 and 4 star guys...

any thought of a minny victory is delusional, misguided and pure self indulgent fantasy. This is going to be a really ugly one guys-84-13 may not be a stretch-think about it-we lost to a much inferior Cal team last year, with an infinitely better team-sometimes life just ain't fair

38-24 USC

Gophers don't play too poorly though....will give a little hope for the upcoming 3 games, which will be critical for Brewster.

Don't want to see this go further in the tank, but I think it's the beginning of the end.

USC 37 - Gophers 9

I don't think we know enough about the 2010 U$C team to determine whether they are any better or worse than Cal was last September. My guess is that if the current U$C team took a DeLorean back in time 12 months that they would be beaten by Cal. Would this have any effect on Crispin Glover? Perhaps. I don't want to think about it. Stupid space-time continuum .

I skipped over everyones pics including Huskers narrative. Maybe it will bring us some good luck.

In spite of a valiant effort by the young lads, we can't keep up with the USC talent.

USC 37-Gophers 27

USC - 42
Gophers - 17

The snowball's rolling down the hill to fast to stop. The Gophers play 'well' and still lose 31-13.

We probably, nay, likely won't win this game but I am looking for another 100+ yard performance from Eskridge, Weber to have at worst a 58% completion percentage and for the Gophs to score 3 TD's.

If that happens, there can still be some hope for a 3 or 4 win B10 campaign.

I'll be at Wiskey watching Becky lose to ASU so hopefully they aren't announcing a 40+ point trouncing and I have to listen to the drunken Badgers whoop it up. At least it's a free ticket.......

34-24 Cheaters

Anyone who thinks that the Gophers score 17 or less is a dummy. USC 45, Gophers 31.

49-10 for the guys from Troy

Pounding the line to dust like it was my job. I will enjoy hoping for the upset of upsets, flirting with the Song Girls and making free money from the guys in Vegas.
