....what's wrong with Calvin Godfrey?

Hey guys,

I don't post over here....at all I guess, but I do follow the BBall team and who they are recruiting. I was just wondering why there has been no talk of this Calvin Godfrey kid? ESPN has a decent review of him and he is comparably ranked to the three they have signed and a way higher ranking than this Osenieks kid. I understand there are a lot of variables, but with Royce seemingly out of the picture and a need at the PF position. Why aren't the Gophers looking at him?

Fill me in on his deal.

There have been character issues and academic questions. There's no way he will be playing D1 basketball next year from what I've heard from a reliable source.

In Denver this past weekend I was speaking with a Juco coach who has been recruiting Dary Jones from Cooper and we chatted about Godfrey. The take on the kid he'd heard recently is Iowa State is a big player in terms of getting him but they have grave concerns about qualifying. According to the coach Godfrey is also a 20 year old senior and there is some concern about his ability to develop etc. Character issues appear to be a bit of a concern as well but not as much as the age and grades.
